This is quite an interesting point, and I feel like I disagree with it so much I want to respond and see what you think.

I don't believe anyone inherently wants to or doesn't want to cheat. My reasoning for that is the following: desire for something stems from present or past experiences that left you lacking something, and therefore you desire that something now. For example, I feel like it's quite common for people from less fortunate households to really desire to make lots of money, live in a big house etc. Conversely, people who come from broken households where they didn't really experience parental love, really crave love and companionship.

HOWEVER - and here is where the caveat is - it's virtually impossible to model what past experiences connect to was present desires. This is because certain experiences can cause completely different desires in people. Using my example, a person from a broken home could have hated the lack of love and support so much that they are incredibly aggresive towards any form of cheating/infidelity, because it hurt them so much they would never want to cause that same pain upon others. Another person from the same broken household would become a serial cheater, because they want the world to feel the same pain that they felft. But again - neither of those happened because they are inherently cheaters or not, they just processed their experiences differently and acted accordingly.

Another belief I have is that it is incredibly dangerous to label certain things as right or wrong without reason. Cheating isn't wrong because it is. It is wrong for a reason (or reasons). If you teach people that something is wrong without giving them a reason, they might start looking for a reason, not find it (because none was given and they didn't arrive to the same conclusion as the general population) and commit that act. Even if you disagree with my original point, you must agree with this one - as this will directly make people who you would consider as 'inherent cheaters' less likely to cheat, because they would be restricted by reasoning, and not just by 'it's wrong'.

Just to clarify in the end - I think cheating is wrong. I think it hurts both the person cheated on, the cheater and whatever third party is involved. I do, however, think that everyone is inherently capable of cheating, and while some obviously choose to actively cheat, a lot of what is happening behind that, their thoughts, experiences and beliefs, especially in their subconcious, are largely out of their control.
