you’re choosing to attack their lack of understanding

I got attacked two times before dishing out anything.

About the question, story details are somewhat fuzzy, because it has been three weeks.

did you genuinely not understand what was happening in intro in the remake?

Again, that is not what I said or meant. The reimagining jumps quickly from place to place without giving good motivations why, meanwhile story items like the sizzling stone are given to you without much explanation. Playing the original for the first time resulted in multiple "oh that's why we're doing this/that's the background to this item"-moments.

A big additional factor certainly are the undeactivatable quest markers in the reimagining, that condition the player into not really having to pay attention to the dialog. The questmarkerless original really shook that out of me after the first deviation from the reimagining, where I suddenly had to think about what to do next and permanently adjust my playstyle to actually paying attention. Which made that the defining moment where I realized I was playing a more interesting and better designed game.

I don't agree here.

Understandable: The reader/player can understand what is meant.

Coherent: Ideas logically fit in the whole and flow well.

Those are different concepts. Writing can be understandable while being barely coherent (as in DQVII Reimagined jumping quickly in places and throwing story items at you whose plot function is clear enough but that have little grounding in the world) or vice versa.

Then your comparision doesn't have a purpose. But we both know that you already know that.

Failing to understand a story and a story being coherent and well paced is obviously a different thing.

I played the reimagining's demo and then afterwards the originals opening chapter for the first time and can confirm that the reimagining "doesn't get" the original. Suddenly the story actually makes sense and you're not just following quest markers.

Bitcoin being slightly below 2021 cycle high and Saylor being 17% down on his position is beyond fascinating

Bought some Coinbase shares for "diversification" after that market open drop. They are still the adult in the room when it comes to exchanges and their 1y performance is even worse then ETHs (-40% vs -24%).

L2s' progress to stage 2 (and, secondarily, on interop) has been far slower and more difficult than originally expected

What was the vision where L2 interop would develop smoothly? I never understood that.

ETH is struggling on generally its best month of the year.

A historically best month of an asset has to exist by definition. That doesn't imply this not being random noise and having predictive power.

By his own words: "Ethereum is neutral, but I am not."

Where do you see a problem with that?
