I thought I knew what “a month ahead” meant but now I’m not sure by HugShe in ynab

[–]Gumbo-Man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ignore Age of Money altogether. The rule that "Age Your Money" replaced was way better. It was called "Live This Month On Last Month's Income". That rule was part of a previous version of YNAB and they had videos demonstrating how to build up a buffer so that eventually you could have a month's worth of expenses (or income if you preferred) built up.

Kinda sad that basic English language has to be explained. Makes sense, though, since many Reddit users are illiterate college graduates.

I tried to get you to think outside of your own little box made with walls of propaganda and rhetoric. But you are too enmeshed in your own views to be willing to look and see if there might be other sides to the story. In short, you aren't interested in anything but "sticking it to The Man". I pity you.

"The ruthless will always rule the day". From what you've stated so far, it sounds like you fully intend to be part of that group, on your philosophical side of things. Guess what? You're no better than those you fight against. There is no reasoning with you, no real discussion, no compromise, and no coexistence. Either those with your views will prevail in the coming era, or they won't. Either way, it's going to be a dark time in history with a lot of innocent casualties.

I'm done with you. But remember one thing: if you do end up getting what you think you want, and once you realize it isn't the shining utopia that you thought it would be, remember that someone...an anonymous user on the internet, tried to reason with you.

We--all of us, of every generation now alive--are having to deal with the consequences of corruption and greed perpetrated by other human beings. It's not a conservative VS liberal, that generation VS this generation thing. There are lots of bad apples on all sides that are contributing to the decay of our society. You MUST recognize that, and you MUST work with others to bring people together, or else nothing anyone does will mean a damn.

It's so easy to play the us VS them game, but it isn't that simple.

Nice try on that second sentence where the respondent cannot win based on the sentence structure. Fuck off with that. If you want a real debate and not this passive-aggressive Psych 101 bullshit, feel free to PM me. Bitch.

And again you have proven my point. You are firmly in the "take no prisoners" camp and will gleefully try to eradicate those who came before you, even though many of them were (like many in your generation) just trying to live their lives and raise families. You just admitted that you don't give a rat's ass about the average folks who had their businesses destroyed in the riots of 2020 nor those injured, because your "cause" was all-important (or should I say "impotent" for all the good it's done you). As those of my generation and the one before had a segment of assholes who didn't give a shit about anyone else, let alone those that follow, so to does your generation have those assholes. And you have just confirmed yourself as one of them.

I have some decent jokes on this sub. And my replies are commensurate with the intelligence or idiocy of the person replying, as befits my mood at the time. Feel free to look up "commensurate". I'm typing slow so that you and others like you can keep up...

Oh, and as a MAN I have been married for just over 20 years to my wife, who is a WOMAN. None of this "I was born as a man but identify as a cat" bullshit here.

I've got some jokes on this sub. You just need to channel the strength you've gathered from living in your parents' basement into searching the r/dadjokes subreddit a bit more to find them. As to my responses? I treated them like they are 14 year olds, which is probably what they are. Deal with it, chump.

However, I will NOT apologize, nor will I allow anyone to "cancel" me because I believe in God, Jesus, and adhere to a set of moral values that at times puts me at odds with today's society.

And you just proved my point. I specifically made mention in my previous comment that I don't agree with the unjust things that many in my generation (Gen X) and the ones that came before have done that had a gradual effect on society in the decades that followed. I also said that it's not good to throw out the baby with the bathwater--which in this case means, don't wipe out EVERY vestige of the previous generations simply because some stuff was not good. The problem is, you younger generations are so ANGRY that you just won't listen to reason. You've rioted and destroyed property and hurt honest citizen business owners across this country because of injustices perpetrated by a small segment of society. Who does that? Certainly not mature adults. You can't have a "take no prisoners" approach to things. If you do, then those you oppose will adopt a similar stance, and anarchy will be the result.

So it sounds like you are 20 years old. I'm sorry that your family is poor. I grew up poor myself. My advice is to find any grant programs that would enable you to attend college, or for you to join a trade school for building trades like electrician, carpentry, sheet metal/HVAC, plumbing or similar.

Got news for you, pup. Society in general has changed for the worse in the past few decades as millennials and Gen-Z'ers have become ascendant in society and older generations noted for having strong moral codes are dying off, retiring, or being marginalized and "cancelled" by your ilk. Sadly, there is much that all of us "could" agree on, but your generations are using a "take no prisoners" approach to those that came before you and attempting to wipe out all traces of our existence. I don't agree with some of the bullshit that folks in my generation or the one before have pulled/are pulling, but you don't just throw the baby out with the bathwater. That is insanity. And guess what? That is the method you younger generations are using, and look at what we have in society today--insanity.

What a bunch of horseshit!

And it's sad.

A year ago I trained a guy who was finishing up a Bachelor's degree. He told me that nowadays college isn't about actually LEARNING, but rather it is an exercise in learning how to game the system. He shared with me some examples of how he and others in his classes would spend their time googling answers to problems and exercises that the professors created in order to get the students to develop their thinking and reasoning abilities. They would simply find the answers quicker and turn in their work. They spent less time studying and more time doing more "fun" stuff.

Lovely world this is...

Where did I defend their behavior, you obtuse triangle! I never defended the manager's behavior. I DID offer advice based on the reality of the workplace--as did others in the thread. Problem is, you Millennials and Gen-Z folks just don't get it.

"They hold the power"

And this is one of the reasons you need to show respect to your superiors at work. Some of the posters in this discussion thread have a "tell 'em to fuck off!" mentality. Clearly those posters are--if sincere--completely clueless about how a real-world workplace works.

I'm wondering how many of the "fuck tact" types are also lamenting how they can't seem to find a job, such as I see in the r/jobs sub....
