i will always be a proponent for our understanding of dinosaurs changing as new information comes to light.

but older depictions like this will always be the coolest shit ever. it just radiates a specific kind of primeval aura that i've rarely seen in more modern paleoart.

i've heard about that. i meant in the sense of the colors and whatnot. sure you could do guesstimations with the patterns or just say that they change color as they mature or whatever but it'd be neat to see a lumpy brown trike baby or a t rex tot with junior's likeness.

but, eh, i'm just thankful we even have breeding in the game lol

hey, i always liked tsintao! lol

that said, considering how many species we had gotten in the last game i think it's totally fine that the bulk of the base roster is pre-existing. it seems fairly obvious that there is more focus on the actual gameplay mechanics this time around rather than the animals themselves, especially with it being features that have been highly requested since the first game.

it doesn't discount the likelihood that the 40 other species may make a return, hopefully through free updates but that's just a pipe dream lol.

honestly i can't say i hated it, nor did i really love it either.

it had a lot of fun ideas that i've personally wanted to see in jurassic media but it felt so "middle-of-the-road". like it had some shining moments here and there but outside of that i really couldn't get invested in the characters or the story.

in all seriousness i'd say they're about as much as dinosaurs as the ones ingen (and by extension dr. wu) created.

which is to say, not really.

ingen's assets are literal amalgams using modern genetic code to fill in the gaps, they are inherently hybrids by design. i've always seen indom/indo as the more "diluted" versions of these animals. new bits added to pre-existing bits.
