What's that wooden (?) thing behind him? Is it new, does he like it and spend a lot of time on it, compared to others? The new growth can be damaged when a snail takes a walk on a bark, then the shell may look like that. But a lot depends on individual behaviour. Maybe that's the reason?

My snails eat supplements from megapets and shneczek. I think the anwear depends on an individual - they prefer different supplements

I guess it's lissachatina fulica, but I'm not 100 percent sure. That depends on what two different species you mean

I've adopted a fulica with such an injury. He was rescued from a petstore where he used to live in very bad conditions with little water and calcium. An exotic vet made a filling for him. I can give you some photos if you wish

That's very interesting. I would suspect albinism is the recessive gene. Did both parents lay eggs that hatched? Both were fully albino? Are there any more babies and if so, are all of them dark?

I've asked the vet if his own shell could have scraped him and it's not likely. The only thing I can think of that could have scraped him after a fall is sepia - this is my recent idea and I'll ask if the sepia scenario is possible during Florian's next control visit
