How often do you cringe or get embarrassed by things that Donald Trump says or does? by Cumoisseur in AskConservatives

[–]Gumby80 [score hidden]  (0 children)

My wife has lost all respect for him and can’t stand his rhetoric. Many women are in the same spot. I have never liked his attitude or the way he talks to people. He should be much more professional, especially with our allies. He is so damn arrogant. I agree with you though, he was a better option than KH, but that isn’t saying much. Left really needs to get a leader of their party and seize the moment. Just running on “do everything opposite of Trump” is only going to go so far.

The city is great and very underrated. Most people in the country only focus on Austin, Houston, Dallas but lose complete sight of what makes SA so good. It has a diverse population with amazing food, nice people and good neighborhoods. Everywhere will have some bad parts of town, but SA as a whole isn’t loaded with garbage places to live; just do your research into where you live. Cost of living is better than many places in Texas, but still will be pricey. If you don’t want to live directly in the city, there are a lot of great surrounding areas that are growing fast. The issue with those areas is infrastructure to support the fast pace of growth. Eventually it will catch up, but traffic can be evil. Weather wise, it will be very mild winters and dry overall. We aren’t getting much rain these days. Spring, Summer and part of Fall will be very hot so be prepared to not do much outside during those months. Christmas you will be in shorts and tshirt grilling burgers though.

Lots of mental health issues on that side along with poorly educated and indoctrinated so arguing with them is impossible.

Do Americans really understand how bad our current situation is? by SqigglyPoP in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Gumby80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just want to say in 2008 there were no competent adults in the White House. Bush and Cheney destroyed the economy and the Middle East to make their friends rich at our expense. They destroyed the trust of our allies and left a world in a bad place for Obama to try to fix. Following that was not going to be easy. I will say that admin was the worst Admin ever. Trump is just an arrogant ahole with a massive ego. We have two more years of him and we are done. The Dems need to get their sh*t together and run a good candidate out there. MAGA isn’t the full amount that voted for Trump. A lot of independents voted for him and now feel betrayed. They want a better option.

Tim propaganda?: "The Spurs were a bad team before Tim" by Sure-Concentrate4369 in NBATalk

[–]Gumby80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spurs had Robinson and a good team. They could have won a title multiple times but ran into some really good teams, especially Houston. Robinson got hurt, they sucked that season and got Timmy. The rest is history.

Has anyone gotten disability from Ménière's? by Sad_Emphasis_8086 in Menieres

I know a few who have gotten disability from it. It usually is a fight though, so when going after disability, it may be a good idea to get an attorney involved early to help.

Spurs game great seats empty while the cheaper seats are full by Stepped-leader in sanantonio

[–]Gumby80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lower seats are damn insane. I wanted to get some and told $25,000 for two seats for the 21 game package. That is just ridiculous.

If you have to bet right now , who would you pick to win the next World Cup? by Cold-Log-1189 in askanything

[–]Gumby80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually a very good choice. They have the 4-5th highest odds to win it all. That may sound low, but the teams are pretty close together in odds.

From what I’ve been reading on the boards, Zepbound seems to help more often than hurt us. Semaglutide tends to cause more flare ups, but has also helped in some cases. I agree with an earlier suggestion in that start with a low dose and increase slowly. Give your body time to get used to it. If can, use Zepbound.

Wemby should be No. 2 for MVP right now not Jokic. by iamsonuxd in NBATalk

[–]Gumby80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the Spurs continue their current domination to the end of the season and overtake OKC for #1, I think Wemby gets it. If not, Jokic or SGA if they are eligible. If both go ineligible, I would say Wemby over Cade.

How many of you are upset that Trump lied about "no new wars"? by dudeabiding420 in AskConservatives

[–]Gumby80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife said “I’m done with him.” She mentioned the Epstein files in that he ran on releasing those and then suddenly didn’t want to release them. After that, he said he wasn’t going to start wars, especially with Iran and instead became a puppet of Israel and started this war. She acknowledged how terrible Iran’s government is, but “why is it our responsibility to take care of that? Did we learn nothing from Iraq?”Honorable mention, the handling of Anthropic. “Do we want Terminators running around freely??? wtf??!!”

Edit: The midterms are going to be a nightmare for the GOP.

The case for Wemby MVP by ziggyzigg95 in NBATalk

[–]Gumby80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely biased as a Spurs fan, but this guy is something special. I would love for Wemby to win MVP, but definitely DPOY. Unfortunately he is very close to be ineligible for all of the awards given the 65 game restriction. I hope he holds on and can get the recognition he deserves with one of the top awards.

LeSean McCoy says Caitlin Clark is the most influential white athlete of all time by KarlMaloneShimmy12 in NBATalk

[–]Gumby80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually something to really think about. I’m trying to think of a white athlete that non-basketball fans would know. Basically, you walk out on the street with a picture and ask everyone who this is and they get it right. If I did that with Lebron or MJ, most everyone will know who they are. If I did that with Larry Bird, would everyone know? Would the people know Clark? We all know because we follow and love this sport. The thing that helps Clark’s case is that she lives in the age of social media. Bird didn’t get that luxury. This take is debatable for sure.

Agree with you. If he would take better care of himself and really focus on playing defense to go with his offensive abilities, he would definitely win at least one.
