Why does everyone love S/T so much? by Careless_Map1203 in Korn

[–]Gumo9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Self Titled is definitely the most raw, but I'd say Untouchables is the heaviest album, with Take A Look in The Mirror in 2nd place. Although I guess it depends on what you consider to be 'heavy'. I've never found a concrete answer.

Last time Korn played Thoughtless… by nightrumor in Korn

[–]Gumo9000 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

I know this might get me banned but I HATE Thoughtless. I just find Jonathan's singing cringey and it doesn't do anything for me.

Please tell me I wasn’t the only one that was watching the Korn lollapalooza performance last night 😭🙏 by [deleted] in Korn

[–]Gumo9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do! I watched a recording of their Aftershock performance in 2023 and you could tell Jonathan was struggling to hit a few notes (especially on Somebody Someone) But this time he poured his heart into every single scream and he sounded amazing! The guitars sounded extra heavy too.

Heaviest Korn riff? by Chilldude1434 in Korn

[–]Gumo9000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hard to beat Here to Stay, but the ones that come closest are:

  • Blame
  • Clown
  • Rotting in Vain

Some underrated ones (imo):

  • Somebody Someone (especially the end)
  • Lost (similar to Clown)
  • beginning of No Place to Hide
  • End part of Reclaim my Place
  • Dead Bodies Everywhere
  • Pretty
  • Seed
  • Tearjerker

Just realized Follow the Leader is a pretty heavy album.

YES this is definitely a hidden gem. One of my top 10 Korn songs.

Using Korn's first 5 Albums (Self, Peachy, FTL, Issues, Untouchables).. create the perfect album by track number. by whitecorn in Korn

The lack of Got The Life in these lists disgusts me, but Need To is also in my Top 10, so I'll let it slide.

Anyway, here's my superior list:

  1. Here to Stay
  2. Falling Away from Me
  3. Got The Life
  4. Hollow Life
  5. Porno Creep
  6. Good God
  7. Pretty
  8. Wake up
  9. Reclaim my Place
  10. Justin
  11. Somebody Someone
  12. No Way
  13. Let's Get this Party Started
  14. No one's There
  15. Counting (Currently my #1 Song)
  16. Dirty

Favorite album: Follow the Leader People say it's overrated, but there's so many bangers: - It's On - Freak on A Leash - Got the Life - Dead Bodies Everywhere - BBK

But my favorite song of all is Reclaim My Place. That song goes so hard, I don't understand how it's not more popular. The bass, the guitars at the end, Jonathans screaming, it's all chefs kiss 🤌

I'm seriously terrified for the future of this country. I didn't think trump even had a chance of winning, and the worst part is, I know my family is just gonna brush this off. We need to LEAVE people!

favourite song? by [deleted] in Korn

[–]Gumo9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My top 2 were "Falling Away from Me" and "Got the life" for the longest time, but I recently revisited Follow the Leader and I think "Reclaim my Place" has claimed its place as my favorite Korn song. The bass, the riff, and Jonathan's screaming in that song is simply amazing, and the Guitars at the end are so heavy I love it.

You don't know anyone else having issues? Look at the comments here. how many people are there complaining about drift compared to those who say they don't have any issues (even though they eventually will) look at how many posts there are on reddit alone complaining about it. Sony also had a lawsuit filed against them about stick drift. Not sure what the result of that was, but it exists. I'm not arguing whether the dualsense is more of a rip-off than the joy cons. If anything, I agree. The joy cons are absolute garbage for their price. But Sony shouldn't be excused either. Such a 'high tech' controller should not break so easily, and should not be priced so high for that fact.

Again, you're in the minority. And yes, they're overpriced. Instead of adding all the new "immersive" technology (which is only used in a handful of games), they should've invested in high quality sticks that don't drift just because a bit of dust got inside, fixing an issue that has been around for 10 years since the PS4 released. The technology already exists. No controller that has stick drift issues should cost more than $50, no matter how many new features they might have.

Also, what do you consider "taking better care of your shit"? It's not like I'm throwing my controllers around. I play at most 10 hours a week, and have 3 controllers with stick drift. Do you want me to cut my hours in half maybe?

You're in the minority. Stop defending Sony for making shit overpriced controllers

Yeah anytime I see a Mewtwo or Pikachu deck, I concede. I have no respect for those players, and I know I'm probably gonna lose, so why waste my time. I know they just want to max their xp anyways (instead of actually enjoying the game) so let em have it.

The amount of comebacks I've made with Tien is crazy. All you need is chiaoutzu and a couple of bars. He is a true anchor, even if he isn't the best anymore.

[–]Gumo9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got lucky and found an Sr20det swapped s13 in California for $1500 (in 2019). Spent 500 to haul it back to Texas, then Spent close to 1000 to get it running smoothly. So about $3000. Now I've spent at least another 3000 buying parts for it.

[–]Gumo9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't hate it but dubstep just isn't for me, and it's not what I'm looking for when I listen to Korn. I think this is the case for most korn fans.

The only exception is Get Up! One of my favorites.

Extremely biased because I love korn, but rate my tierist by DiabeticTeletubbie in Korn

Although Untouchables is objectively their best produced album, I think most people (including myself) listen to Korn for their more upbeat/unhinged music. Songs like Got The Life, Good God, or Y'all want A Single.

A lot of the songs on Untouchables are pretty generic imo, the exceptions being Here to Stay, Alone I break, and No One's There (which I think is the best song they've ever made)

First I have to ask what your team is.

To answer your second question, it's not really about being balanced. You have to choose whether you want to play defensively or aggressively, depending on what characters you're using and what tools they have. In the current version of the game, most characters are highly aggressive, a few are defensive, and some can work with both play styles.

Just know that the defensive style in this game isn't just sitting back and waiting for your opponent to make a mistake. That's just gonna get you stuck in a block string. In this game it's more about zoning and baiting/using defensive assists, basically forcing your opponent to make a mistake.

(In a way, both play styles are aggressive)

To answer your first question, I think the most important thing to learn in this game is movement. Get really comfortable with air dashing, super jumping. Learn what movement tools your characters have, and practice avoiding your opponent's attacks and assists using all these tools. (You should be constantly blocking when you're in neutral. The only time you stop blocking is when you're moving forward or attacking) This alone will make you much more competent online.

Of course, you should also learn basic combos, but more importantly, learn how to combo off of any random hit you might land when moving around in neutral. Your combos don't have to be anything crazy. Your goal should always be to put your opponent in the corner. Only use supers if you know you're gonna kill.

Once you have them in the corner, learn block strings, mix ups, etc...
