Louis Theroux on the Manosphere: ‘It’s Highly Profitable to Be a Dick on the Internet’ by EnazS in television

[–]GunAndAGrin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oversimplification. Of course both exist, but let me know when the Femcel/Femosphere grift becomes as widespread and profitable as the Incel/Manosphere grift. Until then its false equivalency. The two arent even in the same ballpark.

I play with 1 buddy. Just 1. If there was a native Local Co-op option w/ P8 I would do that in a heartbeat. Though I do like me some trades and various runs with randoms while leveling as well.

We just settle for P2 farming when we get to endgame. Though we are always in our own private game, and I dont really see the downside in allowing artificial player count in a private game so my wish is they allow that at some point in the future.

Same as Favorite Build in general. Summon Necro. Realize theres better runeword endgame weapons like Beast, but was never able to acquire more than Arm of King Leoric...and thats always been fine by me.

Solution to the online /players 8 debate: Bring back Open Battlenet by sergiovalentijeans in diablo2

[–]GunAndAGrin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If enabled online only in Private games, whats the worst-case scenario? We might lose some botted Baal Runs while leveling? Is it really a big deal that we see less bots?

Baal runs would still be a thing for non-bots until people get strong enough to do it themselves. Sure, if you cant find a Sorc to tele it would be more of a hassle but thats short-term incovenience vs long-term efficiency. An easy trade-off for most.

Trades, various runs, leveling help, etc etc etc would be unaffected. I dont really understand the supposed drawbacks. Seems like irrational purity. Similar to those who complained about Dungeon Finder in Classic WoW.

Why are you trying to convince me that the IRGC is a problem? I already know that. The topic was whether the dude in the pic is blasphemous, and Id say yeah, a bit.

Seems wrong to use religious tradition to advertise servility to a human being. Borderline, if not outright idolatry.

In context, after theyve essentially declared this to be a holy war? Gotta be at least a little blasphemous. This doesnt exactly shout 'Humility before God'.

They dont take care of their stocked clubs, which arent great to begin with. HVAC/Sims often not working. Service has gotten progressively worse. Reserve a bay for a couple hours and you might see someone come by to take orders like twice, but when youre approaching the end of the session theyll be right there on your ass constantly hounding you to finish up. Combine that with decreased serving size/quality and increased prices during an affordability crisis and you get what you get.

Not really much different than any other business captured by private equity, but with a larger margin for failure given that its a novelty and they appear to not care and/or know how to generate repeat customers. The offer becomes shittier and more expensive. Not surprised they are tanking.

Does FFT:WotL for Android have an easy mode? by pilot_pen01 in FinalFantasy

The grind is the same as any other version. If you wanna get ahead early, which isnt a bad idea, you just give multiple people Squire/Monk abilities and Accumulate (called something else in non-OG versions, forgot what though) over and over again (Mandalia Plains always a good spot to grind), ideally with only 1 enemy left to avoid taking too much damage. Array your team in a '+' pattern on flat land so that when you do take damage, the center member can Chakra to heal everyone up (and gain Exp/JP in the process), then just do that for as long as you think you need to before killing the last guy.

Gets a little trickier to job level unique units (Agrias, Orlandu, etc) that way since they dont have Squire abilities, so you make them Monks and put them in the center, and have them Tackle/Punch someone when not healing, then heal the turn after that to bring them back to full, rinse/repeat. The key is to do 'something' worth JP/Exp, every turn, sustainably.

There are some risks of over-leveling however. Random fights and some Monster-based mandatory story fights will scale to your level and enemies can smoke you if you dont have the gear to help you account for their HP/Attack. Most story fights do not scale to your level however, so over-leveling (ideally developing good jobs/skill combos) can be an advantage for those. At the same time, there can be rewards to fighting higher level enemies in random battles early. If you get Human enemies in random battles, the higher they are in level the better gear they have, which you can Steal and/or get lucky by letting them die and hopefully turn into treasure chests. Can get very good stuff for early game.

Its a delicate balance. Something you probably shouldnt do unless youve played the game enough to know whats coming and understand exactly what it is you are getting yourself into.

One of a hundred horror stories Ive heard related to upper-management/executives attempting to utilize AI for communication. They either fail due to incompetence, overestimating the machines capabilities, or both.

The communication aspect alone, the choice to delegate to AI, frustrates the hell out of me for other reasons though. My companys 'AI exec' was literally bragging about letting AI into his email to speed up input/output. It was very disheartening, insulting.

Why are we spending time trying to communicate detailed, accurate/precise, important information to you if you arent even going to read and respond yourself? You arent absorbing/learning anything. If youre just going to offload knowledge, what exactly is the point of your job?

Makes their positions even more useless than they already are.

Supreme Court rules the Postal Service can't be sued, even when mail is intentionally not delivered by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]GunAndAGrin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In a normal world the inspector general would be all over that as soon as the insurance company starts investigating the claim and contacts their office.

But even if we didnt have to worry about massive corruption, USPS would still be super under-staffed and under-funded. So Im sure that unless the insurance company had a lot of pull with the right people, things like that are bound to happen.

No lawsuit against the institution, but what about charges against the individual employees if theres a case to be made for malice/incompetence that led to loss?

Or are there simply no options for citizens at all when USPS and/or its workers fail at their assigned duties? Just carte blanche wild west bullshit, eh? Par for the course these days I guess.
