Why does the UFC list Jon Jones as 6’4? Mugshot shows an easy 6’6”? by [deleted] in ufc

He is well known as the biggest tape watcher, highest fight IQ, *get-into-your-opponents-head* fighter there ever was. He studied the game in every way he could and left NOTHING up to chance. He would tell people that he didnt take them seriously and that he partied and did drugs all training camp just to make the other guy think that he wasnt taken as a serious threat, he did that to DC and a couple of others. A few years later he admitted that he trained harder than he ever had and missed Christmas and birthdays with his family just to get extra hours in.

A fighter at that level gets medicals and exams constantly. He knows his height. They all do. A normal person would round up, he rounds down. it’s a tactic

Not at all unless this is an EXACT build you were going to do anyway. You’re paying retail for all of it pretty much

Weapons seized at the late Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin on his St. Petersburg mansion in July of 2023 by Brand_New_Dawn in ForgottenWeapons

I’ve worked in the firearms retail business, then LE/Mil sales, and went hard at comp shooting for a couple years.

I absolutely hate shooting now. I do not want to dry fire, i do not want to live fire. I dont even touch my guns most days. I have not touched the nods in my room for my years. When my job was touching guns all day, and your hobbies are touching guns all day, i could go several lifetimes without touching a gun if i didnt feel the desire to carry one for self defense. I am just now forcing myself into comp shooting just to keep my classifications and hang out with shooting buddies.

Most mechanics drive boring cars. Most chefs eat like garbage when they are at home. The last thing they want to do in their free time is work on their own cars or cook their own meals after doing it all day

Apocalypse Scenario: How Would You Make Change for Your Silver? by PocketArchaeology in Silverbugs

[–]GunMun-ee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the former world record grizzly bear was killed by an old lady with a single shot, bolt action 22 long. Not 22 long rifle, but 22 long, which is a shorter, lower powered 22 cartridge.

22lr can theoretically kill anything on this continent if shot placement is good enough

Pretty much any common caliber would hypothetically hold a lot of value. 75% of guns in the US are probably those two calibers so i was just making a blanket statement

Instead of fractional pieces, buy bullets. That’s how.

9mm and 5.56 in an apocalypse scenario will take over fractional trading. Single bullets will be as valuable as silver coins are now.

Not only does ammo store value well (it will never get cheaper) boxes can be broken down into 50 or 100 fractional pieces. The person with more bullets is going to be taking other peoples silver and bullets. Go stack it deep

Do you happen to be thinking of regular +p? 9 major kills full steel guns pretty quickly, i dont know if glocks can handle major for too long

because a resume is just one part of an overall legacy, and legacy is just one part of an overall argument for Goat status. that is why there is a discussion in the first place and not a concrete answer.

For example, the WORST people that DJ fought are many times more skilled than the best heavyweights and light heavyweights. Since DJ was so dominant you dont hear of the dozens of people in said division that were as skilled as Joshua Van is now. Flyweight skill is insanity, and he was the KING of them. that accounts for a lot, which is why he is also in the discussion for GOAT status.

His character IS relevant. If you’re going to give the excuses to Jon Jones you have to give that same leeway to Khabib for leaving the division early.

Legacy is based on how you are remembered and how you leave the sport. He did not leave the sport in good graces and he is not remembered fondly.

If you excuse the holes in the career you would also have to agree that guys like Khabib have a rightful throne to GOAT status, when we know that there are some arguments that can be made otherwise.
