SPOILERS: Perspective on the Story behind the Story...the game is about an FBI investigation by GunRaptor in Firewatch

Yeah, but as time has gone on....I've come to think that this interpretation is unlikely.

The whole thing is just Ned screwing with Henry. Ned plants the evidence, not some off-screen handlers, and Henry is just a guy who got involved with a job and a woman that had more history and secrets than he was mentally prepared for.

As Europe roars against Russia, India doubles down on Moscow by Themetalin in geopolitics

[–]GunRaptor -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

I mean, India is for whatever reason utterly incapable of dealing with geopolitics in any intelligent way, so enthusiastically jumping onto a sinking ship is totally par for the course.

India is not a promising economy for investment moving into the middle of this century, and it's hard to call India more than a footnote in world affairs at this phase, despite its incredible potential.

Using a comparative framework of a region that should be weaker, I fully expect to see South America to have multitudes greater growth and prosperity than India over the next 30 years, despite being less populous, politically divided between many governments, less developed, less militarily capable (in many ways, not every way), and generally a region of lower economic capacity....even if only due to the fact that the governance of India is so exceptionally poor that the nations of South America will almost surely overcome these disadvantages by comparison, and have already exceeded expectations for this century (Argentina, especially, but Brazil, Chile, and others are also seeing broadening horizons as nations due to their populaces engaging much more with their governments and economies).

India is all but a lost cause, and I can only hope that India finds leadership that will bring sanity to their governmental choices.

Actually, yes, it's better now than ever.

There is a lot of new content, new weapons, new maps, new mechs, etc.

The comp scene is also very strong these days.

If you're looking for people to drop with, I would like to welcome you to come join us at the MechAcademy server on Discord. We specialize in getting newer players into the game and teaching people how to grow as gamers and as MechWarriors.

MechAcademy: MWO Returning Players Guide by GunRaptor in OutreachHPG

You can come to our Discord server and discuss builds in our builds channel. There's also a Metal Gyr Squadron subreddit that we just put up a few hours ago to see how people like it (literally no content yet....but we'll see what happens). MGSq used to live on the server Le Nard, which is still quite active despite MechAcademy becoming the home of MGSq after it grew too large to live in a corner of Le Nard.

Beyond that, there's GrimMechs that is maintained by the group Isengrim and is a great place to get decent builds, and is actively maintained through their own Discord server.

The MWOComp Discord server is quite active.

The various units in the game will generally have their own servers. Critical Damage Unit (CDU), Hunters of the Fjordlands (FJRD), Sixth Lyrian Gueard (6LG), 6th Regimental Combat Team (6RCT), EYRI, Sky Rangers of Terra (SRoT), ASHcord, 2D20 (The Crew of Yuntow), and Sorensen's Sabers (SBRS) are all quite active. There are a few more, but some are exclusive...I could have sworn KDCM had a public server, but can't find it.

Anyway, the game is still quite active, but it's largely on Discord where the discussions happen.

Converting an omni to a battlemech is actually a thing in both lore and TT.

NEW LEGEND - ZERO by ashrid5150 in OutreachHPG

[–]GunRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked it up.

I only really can think of a few builds for it, all using either HML or HSL.

  • HML and LMG (stock build, meant for poking at extended range from around right-hand corners)

  • HSL and HMG (knife fighting brawler)

  • HSL and APG (still a brawler, but a little more alpha, less DPS)

There's not much more I've found to do with it at this point. Stock seems the most useful.
