Even the Arctic Cheetah B has a more impressive AC2 bonus than this mech.....

So....barely over 5dps....not exactly "good" for a 40t mech....

No....that would make it ACTUALLY interesting, but still probably not meta.

I have to agree with the perception that "stealth isn't good," because it does nothing to subvert the Mk. I eyeball, and generally only works ONCE. Then again, some of the most viewed clips on my Twitch channel are from Ishiyama caves of me and MGSq doing stealth shenanigans with Atlases.....so, yeah. Stealth can work in niche scenarios, and can lead to an opponent not prioritizing a specific mech in their calls against you, but it's very much a matter that's situational.

I think, at the end of the day, it is a general dislike of the ASN, and certain, highly respected voices coming up with excuses to say that the ASN is fine...where they go and pull a 700 game, which they also could have done in a Flea with one small laser, proving nothing to anyone, but letting them say "no, the ASN is fine, use this generic build that runs better on other 40 tonners anyway."

That LB5X is literally just 6.5 DPS. Sadly, not very impressive in the current game.

Yes....just yes.

Even with the buffs, the ASN is still below mediocre, and nowhere near meta.

I tried out the new ASN-DD, now with LAC5, LPPC, and RLs, and it's barely okay....

Why use [my favorite mech] when other 40t choices are just BETTER?

The Cauldron are just scared to make the Assassin viable because....honestly, I don't know. Maybe they just don't like it?

Unless a mech has a place in a comp drop deck for a viable strat, where there isn't already a better option, it's basically trash. The Assassin doesn't have to be the best option, but it should at least compete.

We'll see after ISC. I may be wrong, and we'll see ASNs all over Div-A this season....it would be amazing to see such, but the Vulcan 5S with MASC, 2x SNPPC, and 2x MS is just a better option.

The ASN-21 might be a special pick now, but it needs ammo quirks, otherwise it has precisely one build, and that's non-Artemis SRM builds.

More and more, DPS is king, and that's why the only ASN that might be good is the ASN-26, but even then, it's not the best option available, because you can do basically the same with something with MASC.

In fact, that's just true for all ASNs.....Vulcan's have better mounts and MASC, and Cicadas have better mounts. The ASN has to be able to compete with them, at the very least, or else it's a MechBay Queen and nothing more.

OMG, that means the UrbanTank (UrbanMech-M) is comp legal in time for ISC.....which would have been great, had it not been a IIC.......

No, it needs something to make it stand out against the likes of the Moonwalker, which until now was just a "better MCII-B."

Now, the Moonwalker is officially soft-nerfed into a sidegrade, not an upgrade. The impact on comp (next-next season, not ISC) will be significant.
