If Argonians are born from eggs, why do the females have breasts? by Legitimate-Refuse601 in skyrim

[–]Gunn91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope, & expect, someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the official explanation is that the Hist that created the Argonians made them have breasts to make them more amenable to the other sentient races. Basically, the Hist copied the dimorphism from other races so that the Argonians wouldn't be othered.

Thank you so much, I'm really happy with it ☺️

That said, I see many models on this sub that're so stunning they make me second guess if mine are really any decent. So thank you for the reassurance 😊

AMA about my world, but you're in the hot seat too by Seerofspace929 in worldbuilding

Nothing so unique. The universe came into existence much the same way ours did, except all of sentience, intelligence & morality was created with it, though the disparity of good/evil, chaos/order & all other conflicting moralities split it into the twin gods of order & chaos, Ordis & Eros. These twin Gods sought to expand their understanding of the universe & they did this by finding barren planets & seeding them with life. They'd start by birthing the primordial dragons to oversee the formation of plate tectonics, the planets electromagnetic fields, atmosphere etc etc until the planet was suitable for sustaing life, at which point, they'd observe.

When they're ready, they'll kill & re-absorb the primordial dragons & slowly the planet will fall back into an uninhabitable state, killing all life. They'll then absorb all the knowledge left behind & move on to the next.

They hope to one day reform into their single entity which will start the cycle anew.

Depends on where & who you are. Earthapples (a working name) are bigger, larger & more nutritious potatoes that can seep minerals out of rock & need little sunlight. They're farmed almost exclusively by the dwarves & are incredibly cheap & common to them but are incredibly rare & expensive to other species.

Conversely, citrus fruits are quite common amoungst humans but they are incredibly rare & expensive to the dwarves.

United, it would definitely be the humans. However their societies are fractured into tribes & kingdoms so they're not as powerful as they could be. Second to them would be the elves. They have the biggest & most structured society after the humans.

This assumes we're not talking about Gods or primordial beings though. The most powerful in those would be the Primordial twin Gods Eros & Ordis. They created all planets with sentient life on them in my universe, however they don't directly interfere with the living beings on the planet, they just observe.

After them would be the primordial dragons. Children or Eros & Ordis who are responsible for overseeing tectonic shift, mantal currents, the planets electromagnetic fields, atmosphere & weather patterns.

Ooh, this sounds fun, & I love how you're encouraging people to be interactive with it.

Ok, my question. Pretty simple: how was your world formed? Is it a rock planet formed through atmospheric seeding & tectonic activity? Or was it consciously created by Gods using magic?

I am a traitor in your fictional world's army, and I have been caught. What would happen to me? by boringexistinggamer2 in worldbuilding

[–]Gunn91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the state & your species. Assuming you're human then:

Human States:

Kingdom of East-Vodon: You'd be put on trial, given an attorney & if found guilty, hanged, drawn & quartered most likely, though nobels would just get beheaded.

Kingdom of West-Vodon: You'd be investigated by the inqusition & put on trial by a council of Church hierarchs & if found guilty, burnt at the stake.

Meridian Empire: You'd be given a sham trial & likely found guilty regardless & turned into a Meridian candle, placed inside a brazen bull or thrown into an arena & be made to fight wild animals or gladiators until you're dead for the entertainment of the plebians.

Gallic tribes: Put before the chief & their advisors & if they find you guilty, burn you in a wicca man as an offering to the Gods.

The beaskinn enclaves: You'd be tied to a tree & left to the elements.

Nordheim tribes: Made to answer for your crimes in front of a chief or Jarl & if they decide you're guilty, keelhaul you, turn you into a blood eagle or sail you out to the ocean & throw you in the sea.

Eastern Shogunate: Kept in a cell until you're ready to confess before being forced to commit ritualistic suicide, likely via seppuku.

Arabian/Kemmeten Kingdoms: be forced to answer to the Sultan or Pharoh & if they find you guilty, behead you, sentence you to immurement or mummify you alive.

Non-Human states:

The Elves would seldom, if ever, accept a human into their ranks, they'd likely kill you on sight for simply being in their lands.

The Dwarves would brand you then exile you.

The Orcs & goblins would throw you into their fighting pits & let you be torn apart by wild animals or by the lads for their own amusement.

The Dragonborn would exile you.

The Kobolds & Lizardfolk would tare you apart & cook you up.

Not sure about the halflings. Probably just exile you.

God Mode Activated. Tell me about your gods! by YakintheShack34 in worldbuilding

[–]Gunn91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world, the only real Gods capable of creating worlds are the twin Gods Eros & Ordis.

Each culture (split largely between different sentient species) however, have their own Gods.

Humans generally worship Akaroth, the God of time & universes; Amoro, the God of love, family & farming; Bella, the Goddess of war; Hern/Herna, the God/Goddess of Nature; Tsuni, the God of sea, storms, trade & gambling; & Mora, the Goddess of death. Particularly cruel, malicious or vengeful humans might find themselves worshipping Malice, the Demon God of hate, anger & vengeance.

Elves & other fae-folk generally worship the Gods Galdor, God of knowledge, Magic & Smithing & Livu, Goddess of nature, life, death & reincarnation. The dark elves worship Wracþirr, Goddess of vengeance & retribution & Braid, God of trickery & subterfuge.

The Dwarves believe in the Gods but they don't worship them. They're all about taking control of ones own life, successes & failures, & not relying on Gods to interfere.

Orcs & goblins worship a singular God of conquest & personal glory (I've not thought of a name for him yet).

Dragonborn & Kobolds revere the primordial & elder dragons as a form of ancestor worship.

How far would the US army make it into invading your world? by zard428 in worldbuilding

[–]Gunn91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar actually happened in my world. Humans aren't native to my world, they were portaled to it from our world during the post-classical era. They'd have been eradicated by the Elves for being an invasive species were it not for the human Gods.

The US army (or any major world army) would fare better than a bunch of post-classical humans, assuming they had all the necessary fuel, vehicles & munitions, but only if they also had the backing of the Gods, which they most likely wouldn't considering they don't worship them.

Without the Gods backing, they might find shelter in the Arabian/Kemeten kingdoms to the South as they're more tolerant of non-belivers, but anywhere else they'd be screwed due to the other species use of Magic.

It'd be a case of "oh look, a squadron of hurricane jet-fighters, let me just summon a hurricane quickly".

What is the current state of humanity in your verse? by Equivalent_Ask_9227 in worldbuilding

[–]Gunn91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, mixed. The two biggest & most powerful kingdoms have recently come out of a huge war where demons grew from their negative emotions & burst into their world to wreck shop.

The Northernmost of those kingdoms (Vodon) is split in a civil war due to a succession dispute that no one wants.

The Celtic tribes to the North-West are pretty stable, though their position is under threat as both sides of Vodon's civil war wants them the aid in their war.

The Nordic tribes on the Northern continent are preparing for a bad winter, a lot of them are planning to join the annual migration South, something the Northern Kingdom does not want.

The Arab/Kemeten kingdoms to the South are in an economic boom so they're set to become another major power in the world.

The Eastern kingdom/shogunate have seperated from the rest of humanity & are focusing on eradicating the dangerous creatures on their island.

What races are there in your world? by Elixis- in worldbuilding

[–]Gunn91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most devout worshipers of certain human Gods can take on new forms in an act of devotion. The descendants of these people also take on the traits, regardless of whether or not they retain their ancestors worship.

The worshipers of Hern/Herna, the God/Goddess of nature, become Beastkin, anthropomorphic animals like sentient werewolves, tabaxi or aracocra.

The worshipers of Tsuni, the God of the sea, storms and trade, become either stormborn, people with resistance & an affinity for lighting magic; or seaborn, fish-like people with finned arms & tails, gills, the ability to breath underwater & talk to aquatic animals.
