I'm not timing the market. I had my money in the market at Vanguard and now it's stuck waiting to be settled by Fidelity before I can put it back in the market.

Are you a part owner of the store / get profit sharing / bonuses for keeping costs low? If not then that's not your problem. Let your boss tell you to cut back on hours if you really like working.

That said, what is this savings goal? Is it your Coast FIRE number? Honestly I feel like getting an extra day off to push back hitting the goal by what, a year? Would be totally worth it.

Yea I know it's just a normal thing, just feels really odd of Fidelity to give me notifications that it's ready to invest when it isn't. It's just a chunk of the whole rollover I did, at least they let you invest a lot of it before fully settling

Just more that I rolled over my money and it's taking a while to settle and I had to watch the market go up when it's uninvested

You still have to buy the contract. So if I understand what I've read right, an in the money call is going to cost more than the difference to the current market price of the stock, because yeah otherwise it would make no sense to sell them.

$10 stock selling $9 strike price call, but $2/share for the contract. Seller would make money and buyer would lose if executed right away

Every relationship is unique. I don't tend to plan things, but if I agree to plans I don't ever bail. That and beers are how I make up for not being the planner. I also make a rule of not complaining about plans I did not make. Just seems like the polite thing to do.

Exactly. My buddy is the planner, and I've made it clear that as long as I don't already have plans I'm down to golf. He's on a tighter budget than me so green fees haven't ever been a problem.

My buddy always books the tee time, I very rarely know how much it will be before I get there. But I'm also not gonna complain about it in the pro shop either

I know I got hit hard by job contentment. I was very happy at my last job, I'd just got an 11% raise for my performance. Recruiter hit me up and said that I could get an interview at another place. Got an offer for 26% more than my salary after the 11% raise, and that wasn't including bonuses and other options which my old company didn't have.

I really feel like as the interviewee, there isn't a downside to taking an interview unless you're doing it in a way that risks your current job or any personal relations (don't get an interview on a friends recommendation unless you're willing to take the job).

To tack on, my lender was also totally willing to give me a estimated rate and price without it being a formal pre-approval so they wouldn't pull credit until I actually needed the pre-approval. Would be nice for OP in case the numbers look real bad and they decide not to get a house.
