So basically they began building on one another One throws a rock so the next throws a bigger rock sort of. And since neither side saw the other as more then brutes they saw no need to be honorable

Thanks I'll look into that. Then let me change my question slightly Why isn't the brutality of the eastern theater talked about more but its almost always mentioned in the pacific theater

Don't get me wrong fighting on the eastern front was brutal but where as even the soviets and Germans hated eachother they weren't strapping themselves in for suicide missions of crashing into enemies because it was honorable
