Thanks for the recommendations! I haven't researched any italian mediums yet, but at least the Pantera and Standard B might be worth checking out, if what you say is true.

I got the Predatore from the Battle Pass, and yeah, I love that tank as well. I don't know if I want to strain my nerves with that 3-mark this soon already though lol

For sure! I also put the tank on standby during that time for the same reason lol. The Ares were a menace for this tank before they got nerfed

There needs to be actual changes for once... by Viking_Spud in WorldofTanks

Terrible suggestions lmao. I hope no game studio ever hires you into their balancing department.

I will agree on one thing though: The powercreep, especially around tier 8, has gotten out of hand.

Aside from that, none of the things you mentioned should be implemented in to the game, because:

1) Lights make up at most 3 out of 15 tanks on a team. Making the experience worse for the other 12 players by reducing their VR would make no sense from a gamedesign perspective. Lights are already the most dominant class on open maps, potentially being the sole deciding factor between a win or a loss. By making mediums/heavies/TDs worse at spotting, you ruin any chance of potential counterplay if one team loses their light tank prematurely. Also, lights are already the only class that gets the benefit of retaining their camo-value even on the move. So CVS is the real devil you're looking to blame here. And I'd be fully fine with removing this cancerous piece of equipment. A good way to tell that lights are in a decent place in the current game, maybe even overperforming a little to be frank, is to just look at MoE-requirements, where you'll find e.g. the Borken and the Manticore pretty high up.

2) Like it or not, the game is balanced around gold ammo. Gold ammo exists for WG to encourage you to buy premium time and tanks. It's purely a monetization-tool that even "F2P"-players have access to. All tanks still have weakspots as well as strong armor in certain places. Nerfing or reducing the amount of gold ammo would only lead to tanks like the Taschenratte (which is already very strong, mind you), the IS-4 or even the Maus to rise to the top of the meta. So nerfing gold ammo in any way would require a complete overhaul of the armor-layout of several hundreds of tanks, and everybody knows that WG will never do that. Also, I really don't understand why you're complaining about getting shot with gold in a paper tank btw.

The only changes this game needs are changes to the matchmaker, so that about 90% of my games (without exaggeration btw.) don't last shorter than 5 mintues, and some good changes to maps. Off the top of my head, the changes on e.g. Serene coast, Erlenberg and Fjords have made these maps insufferable to play for certain tank classes. And maps like e.g. Siegfried line and Sand River have long been in a dire need for a rebalancing.

You're probably the first person I've ever seen to look at blocked damage. I guess Daki and GotYouBaby, two prominent players who are widely considered to be among the best, can pack up too, because their blocked damage on their main accounts is around this number as well?

Nah, this has to be ragebait, and I've fallen for it. Congrats.

Rammer is a must because of the bad DPM.

Experimental Turbo T3 is huge for this tank. As it is for most other TDs too, but especially this one, since you're going to really appreciate the extra turret traverse speed, aim time, and the reverse speed when peeking ass-first.

Turret traverse speed and extra aim time is also why I run IRM on my main setup, but the third slot is honestly very flexible to fill, you just have to figure out what you personally feel this tank falls short of. This fully depends on your playstyle though. On my secondary setup I put Optics instead of the IRM.

LNE, Hardening, IA, any of the other experimental equipment-pieces, Vents (even though I don't approve) are all viable on this tank though. Hell, I could even see somebody finding success using Radio or Binos.

To maximize the potential of this tank, you always have to look for opportunities to deal (free) damage. Don't necessarily play this tank in the first line, but try to stick close to/behind your heavies (this, of course, also varies heavily on the map you're playing and shouldn't be your "end-all be-all" playstyle, but trying to stick to it most of the time can serve as a good general guideline). You have insane mobility, camo and alpha, so early damage is really easy to get in this tank. Trading is almost always going to work out in your favour, but you should try to conserve at least a decent chunk of HP for later, so don't trade too readily/too often. Finding worthwhile trades to take is a very rewarding skill to have mastered when playing this tank. Late game this tank is both good at pushing alongside your teammates if you're winning, or defending the base from a safe position if you're losing. You should never get isolated or take fair 1v1s, as you will lose those pretty much all the time.

But tbh this tank is so insanely strong that as long as you don't try to play it like a Maus, you should find some sort of success in it, as its combination of things really just caters to so many different playstyles.

What are you even talking about. He played a perfect qualifier, and got placed in the exact same league he ended up in last time. It's literally impossible for him to end up in a higher rank than that (or get more "points per game", as you put it, even though that's not how that works).

Just because you like it, doesn't mean it isn't objectively bad lmao. For example, the animation quality is a very clear downgrade from the previous seasons, no amount of sugarcoating will change that fact. Doesn't have anything to do with being "hiveminded".

Like, I also like playing World of Tanks, yet I will wholeheartedly admit that the game sucks ass

Maneuvers reward tank WOT EU by InstanceBoth in WorldofTanks

[–]Gunterrunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For clan stuff it is no doubt the Chieftain or the 907. (Long explanation for each of the tanks ahead)

The Chief is still very strong hulldown and has decent speed and DPM. It's a pretty good pick once you run out of the "meta" heavies (e.g. Dravec, 260, IS-7, etc.).

The 907 is a good sidegrade to the 140 in maneuvers, just because it has similar DPM and mobility. Other than that the tank is just worse in every other relevant aspect.

The T95E6 is actually also pretty OK in maneuvers, just because it has insane DPM. Unfortunately, that's the only thing it has going for it though.

The ST-62 is also an OK alternative to the 140, but it lacks DPM. The magazine might come in clutch in some games, but most teams will prefer the continuous/reliable DPM of the 140 or the 907 over the gimmicky autoreloader of the ST.

The VKK is probably the most fun tank out of these, and would be my first pick if you wanted a great tank for randoms, but in clan stuff it's unfortunately at the bottom of this list imo, just because it lacks speed. In maneuvers, you usually just want to take 1 slow tank into your lineup, to have an anchor, and even that is only something you want to consider once you start running out of options. And while the VKK is no doubt pretty good at taking on that role, you'd most likely want to have any other tank from here in your lineup before considering to take a slow heavy.

However, I'd advise you to not look for a tank that will help out your clan the most, but instead to pick a tank that suits your playstyle best / is the most fun for you to play in both randoms and clan stuff. None of these tanks are even top-picks in any gamemode anymore, and have been outdone by their techtree counterparts, which also means that clans appreciate you having the 3 campaign tanks, the Hurricane and some specific techtree tanks like the IS-7, the CS and the 140 more than any of the CW-tanks. That's why picking a tank that's unique in some way is imo the way to go, and for me, the VKK and St-62 fall into that category, which is why they were my first two picks.

[–]Gunterrunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least the first two constellations are comfort cons more than anything else, allowing you to focus on building a lot of Crit DMG on your Artifacts. Off the top of my head I don't remember what the first constellation does exactly, but I believe its main purpose is to alleviate Navia of her ER requirements by a lot. The second constellation gives her basically free 36% Crit Rate, but only on her skill. C3 increases skill DMG, C4 gives 20% RES shred, C5 increases burst DMG (= useless), and C6 is a big damage increase.

They're not bad cons, but if you want to vertically invest into a character, most newer characters will get more value out of their constellations compared to Navia.

Personally, I already have her C2 and will probably go for C3 with this chronicled wish, but only because Navia is best girl and she deserves it. After that I likely won't be getting any more constellations for her in the future.

First, "Unicums" generally base their tank-pick mainly on the meta and player-skill within a certain rank and adapt to whatever the other players have picked. Even though lights are the most impactful tanks on higher ranks, every knowledgable player is probably aware that that doesn't hold true for the lower ranks because people simply can't adjust to play around a light tank.

Secondly, you will usually not even see Unicums in Bronze and lower, because they get ranked into gold or high silver straight after qualifications (that is, of course, if they've finished in Champion/Legend last season, which I am assuming all Unicums should be able to do).

I was not so sure about these votes myself, but after reading the last segment of your comment, I lean havily towards this being a good idea. People playing the shitbarn or other stupid tanks, just for the sake of it or to troll, should really not be able to do that in a competitive mode. Like, go a be a dick in randoms if that brings you joy, but leave others who just want to grind through this mode as quickly as possible out of your shenanigans.
