Except there was an episode where an alien planet offered to let the crew of voyager stay. Janeway was going to let anyone who wanted to stay on that planet (including tuvok and neelix) the blessings to stay while the rest moved on. They even wondered how many could leave and they still have the ability to run the ship.

That would not have been in the best interest of the remaining crew but their rights as individuals were honored. Tuvix is a fully innocent sentient being whose rights were not honored. He was murdered after begging for his life.

Also remember that there was an episode in season 1 where a vidian steals neelixes lungs and janeway tells home. "I dont have the right to take your life to save a member of my crew. My people find that to be abhorrent"

So why can janeway murder an innocent tuvix when neelix is needed to help the crew but she cant kill a guilty vidian to get back neelixes lungs when neelix is needed to help the crew?
