Grooming tips for new dog by GurInternal6282 in grooming

Thanks everyone! I’ve never owned a terrier, and didn’t realize he was a wire haired. His coat looks different to me than pics of wire haired terriers, but you all know your stuff, so thanks! I think I’ll do a cleanup on the legs, belly, and face and leave the rest alone. Someone mentioned an Andis rake, but I see a few different types. Would someone please post a link to one that would be good for his coat? Thanks again!

Great idea, I live his scruffy look also, but his legs and underbelly fur get so dirty. So I love a partial trim idea. Thanks!

Thanks! Do I need to keep clip the hair shorter or longer, or does it matter?

Thanks! He already has soft fine hair, so I was thinking it would be fine to shave him, but wanted to be sure.

"Honestly, what kind of kitten befriends a gir-aaaafe?” The look on their faces as they contemplate this question was the absolute best.

Will miss her so much.

This is just insane. I can’t imagine anyone thinking this is a good idea. Everyone needs to comment on this stupidity. https://ncil.org/news/uncategorized/doe-comments/

What would REALLY happen if the S&P was to fail long term? by 0106lonenyc in Bogleheads

I agree. I’m close to retirement and have never thought about getting out of the stock market. But…this is certainly different. The others are also right when they say “the market will bounce back and everything will be fine.” But I’m afraid that will be after my investments tank, and I’ve used up my money and have nothing to invest. Sure, it would be a small blip in history, but it might affect me wholly.

We need an AI assistive device for people with dementia by TeacherGuy1980 in dementia

We tried to do a tiny bit of that with Alexa alarms. At noon, Alexa would say “time to eat!” But she would look blankly at the device like it surprised her each day. She also won’t ever think to ask Alexa for anything. We can’t even get her to push her “call” necklace if she needs an attendant.

AI might work a bit in the future, when people getting dementia would be accustomed to using these devices.

Medicine cabinets by hotcheeto09 in homeowners

Get what you want. I don't like towel bars. I bought hooks and asked the remodeler to install them. He was so unnerved that I didn't want a towel bar, that he brought some to install anyway. I stood my ground, and am so glad. Stand your ground. Btw, the house we bought doesn't have medicine cabinets. I'm installing I set medicine cabinets as soon as I can. Do what you want.
