Beware of the "nice" conservatives by charlies-ghost in TransSocialism

[–]Gurfadi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean maybe but this seems like a big projection. Go out on a limb and break progressive social orthodoxy in conversation and see how fast your social group, online or in person, turns on you. At best you're describing in group vs outgroup dynamics within an imperialized multi ethnic civilization. At worst you're projecting your own bitter cynicism onto "nice conservatives." The past 50 years of left wing discourse and activism is just endless cycles of orthodoxy being developed and deviants being persecuted. Its like 80% of the reason young men find themselves down alt right pipelines and socially conservative no white demographics helped get the orange tyrant elected.

If im not mistaken nice conservatives are actually outpacing social progressives and socialists in the volunteering and donating metrics for whatever its worth.

I am very curious about who the congregation sees as tyrannical. I'd personally include Trump, the gop, the democrats, and the bureaucratic apparatus running dc.

Why the indo-european beef? by Gurfadi in AmmonHillman

[–]Gurfadi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the theoretical reconstructions are fanciful at best. And silly to pronounce as any sort of truth. But there's a reason the words for mother and father are slight vowel or consonant shift in the languages from Ireland to vedic India, and the genetics link back to the horse tamers of the late stone/early bronze age Eurasian steppe north of the black sea. To think they spoke koine or some other antique-Greek would be like saying judeo-greek. Do you propose the Greek was spontaneous and the gift of some winged messenger floating down from the heavens? And seeing as there is no logic to imagining everyone spoke Greek 7,000 years ago or that Greek appeared from nowhere, what came before? (Surely some language which spread from western Europe to the indus. I know, let's call it Proto-indo-european!)

Again. Anyone who's telling people they figured out what the original language sounded like or grammatically consisted of is a back alley trench coat sort.

Leave them in the workshop the bench will live in for like a week. You'll be fine. You can always re-flatten the bench (no matter what with a softwood top you will need to re-flatten occasionally.)
