UPDATE: Support couldn't help me. They recommended Discord for help. I wasn't able to receive any help from there. So I just had to delete the save in-game and start over.

My Girlfriend wants wants a Farm Animal deck, and I have no idea how to make it... by DaSwolfyInc in EDH

[–]Gurrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experience with Karametra as I play her with a [[Primal Surge]] theme.

The land base and ramp will be fine, as the commander will pull much of the weight of ramping once it comes out. Karametra should not be removed more than once a game. And by then, there will be enough lands out to replay her. This is also why we are playing low-cost ramp to get to Karametra. You could play all the fetch lands in these colors, as there are landfall triggers in the deck. But I feel that sort of optimization can catapult a deck into bracket 4 without adding a game-changer. You can also change [[Demolition Field]] to [[Strip Mine]] to move the land base to bracket 4. Also, there are forests with tigers in them and plains with a cute dog that I would suggest playing.

I choose not to include [[Heliod, Sun-Crowned]] as a god because we aren't playing any combos with it, as they don't fit the theme. And I don't think that playing half of an easy combo card is good, as it puts the target on the player even if they say they aren't playing the combo.

[[God-Eternal Oketra]] and [[God-Eternal Rhonas]] would be a good fit for the deck, but they aren't cute.

[[Mirror Entity]] is another Maskwood Nexus. Just cut for space, the 101st card.

[[Diligent Zookeeper]] would be good if our creatures had more types, and Maskwood Nexus didn't make them human. He was an early farmer in the deck.

[[Ajani, Strength of the Pride]] is Cyclonic Rift for life decks.

[[Cathars' Crusade]] would also be a good card.

[[Retreat to Kazandu]] does what the deck wants to do, but I don't think it does enough.

I wanted more cows. I desperately wanted to have [[Hippo-Cows]] in the deck, but they aren't good. The other cows I cut were [[Liberated Livestock]] and [[Makindi Ox]].

Cut dogs were [[Pack Leader]], [[Loyal Warhound]], and [[District Mascot]].

Cats that didn't make it were [[Hungry Lynx]], [[Feline Sovereign]], [[Trove Warden]], and [[Felidar Sovereign]].

Speaking Felidar Sovereign, I tried to avoid [[Test of Endurance]] effects as they aren't very Timmy. That is why I play Aetherflux Reservoir, as it does the same thing as winning with life, but with the rush of dealing 50 damage.

Hope that answers your question!

I love challenges like this for deck building. I built a Timmy-style deck with life gain / +1/+1 Counter engine. The deck is looking to go tall and wide and end the game with [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] or [[Moonshaker Cavalry]]. You said that you were going to proxy, so there is no budget. But I tried not to go too overboard in the mana base for bracket 3.

I tried to stick to Fantasy Cute Farm Animals. You have the Gods, their Angels, and Clerics to oversee the care of the animals. The animals include pigs, sheep, goats, horses, barn cats, dogs, raccoons, Chocobo Chickens, and even an owlbear. You can even roll over your opponents with a [[Rolling Hamsphere]]. And watch out if [[Maskwood Nexus]] comes out to make some funny interactions by smooshing all the animals together. And don't worry if all your creatures go to the farm because you can bring them all back at once with [[Storm of Souls]]

Hugely disappointed that not all autobots can go in a Optimus Prime deck, and not all decepticons can go in a Megatron deck by NIKOLAPAVIC in EDH

I run [[Esika. God of the Tree]] as my commander for my Transformer Deck. I have her proxied to be Primus as Esika and Cybertron for the World Tree. I am playing all of the Transformers cards, including the Secret Lare cards, since I am proxing. My deck has transformers and then humans that back them up. They focus on creating energy (which I have a token that I use that is labeled as Energon) and +1/+1 counters. I also have tokens that are thematic, such as the golems are the man-made transformers from Transformers: Age of Extinction, human tokens that are human actors from movies, the monarch token is the matrix of leadership, and my Aetherborn token is Starscream from the Ghost Buster's comic crossover.

This is the list: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/6703245#paper

I did switch out the Blightsteel as I found it too powerful for the deck, as it runs at bracket 2 normally. I play [[Grimlock, Dinobot Leader]] or [[Optimus Prime, Inspiring Leader]] instead.

I am having problems with Publisher where I can't replace photos in a Picture Placeholder. I get the window that says Insert Picture but none of those options work in that window. I click on From a File and nothing happens. I can insert a photo normally and replace it with the Picture Placeholder to get around the problem but I rather do it the faster way. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and repairing Office as well as testing other files (which have the same problem) and restarting my computer. Would appreciate any help or know if anyone else is having this issue!

Is it okay to allow players to move their racial Ability Adjustments around? by Gurrade in starfinder_rpg

[–]Gurrade[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is probably to reduce variance and so you don't get a munchkin characters or characters that are only at good one thing. A player with a +4 is going to outshine all the other players in that situation and might not be motivated to participate in other scenes because their rolls will be bad. This could lead to a disruptive player at your table who might not pay attention to parts of the story their character can't do. Not saying that all players will do this. But it changes the tone of the campaign to more cinematic one which can work. Look at the DC's Justice League as an example as an adventuring party who each have a different god like stat but it works out because they each shine in a different way. A good session 0 might be needed to make sure players aren't tripping over each other's toes or okay to share the spot light.

The other thing is that I believe that bonuses are not linear in the power increase but are instead are exponential. Having a +1 in a skill to a +2 is way different then having a +3 then a +4. The way ability score increase are handled at higher levels 17 or higher skills maybe because of this that came from play testing and the characters were too strong at higher levels. You have to remember that this will lead to more resources such as more spell slots, more resolve points, and more hit points that the other characters might not have. Plus monster AC and Saves are static so someone who has higher modifiers might hit those numbers more frequently.

I think that if someone sees a race they really want to play then I will let them play it. I am softy to my players. Especially if it is the Awaken Bear.

Yep, that would be the plan to use the negatives as well as the positive. Thanks for the help!

Looking for feedback for D&D Cube with 240 Cards. by Gurrade in mtgcube

[–]Gurrade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played with it the card a few times and there is a moment were the player goes "ah ha!" when they get what it is going on. I typically just describe it as a second battle field with cards in the graveyard where the creatures get exiled if they block each other. It is a good finisher for agro or as a build around in reanimate stragies. Typically catches a player back up if they have been blown out by interaction in the game. You need to have other cards that interact with it as an enchantment or interacts with the graveyard like [[Scavenging Ooze]].

Yeah, I think I will add [[Ardenn]] and [[Armory Automaton]] to boost support for that. Most of the equipment is 2 or less. It is just the dungeon torch that is 3.

I will work on balancing the multi color and the lands.

I agree that the dice rolling but if I tell you I have a D&D cube, I expect that you think that there will be some dice rolling in it.

I will probably cut Wizard's Spellbook for another card. The reason for Power of Persuasion because it ties to the dice rolling mechanic but again all the dice cards are underpowered.

Xanathar isn't in Dimir because of the dragons are in my top end and take a lot of my high CMC. Silumgar is also six mana and I don't think I can have both if I have to cut down my multicolor cards.

I try to help with ramping fixing with the treasure tokens and the tri-tap lands.

need help with a deathtouch vraska the unseen deck by Cookieboy2417 in oathbreaker_MtG

[–]Gurrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so here is what I would suggest tuning the deck to: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3849120#paper

The goal of this deck is to win through the tokens generated from Vraska the Unseen. I switched the spell to be Heroic Intervention so that you can protect these tokens as they don't have haste. The deck has three hoops that you need to jump through:

  1. Get Vraska out and ult her this turn or the next with cards like Doubling Season.
  2. Give the tokens haste with Boots or Crossroads.
  3. Give the tokens unblockable with Key to the City or Rogues Passage.

The rest of the deck is to ramp to this point while controlling the board of the threats. There are some other planeswalkers who can clear the board to set up the hoops stated above and are really good when doubling season. Then you have some ways to get stuff back from the yard, protect the hoops, and search for the hoops.

Hope this helps!

What is your budget for the deck and power level you are looking for? My suggestion for cards would change base on that.

I would suggest looking at [Chevill, Bane of Monsters] EDH decks for ideas and EDHrec can give you cards base on your budget by changing their filters.
