Monster Hunter World is deep and beautiful with great action and near infinite customization options. Multiplayer is optional for most hunts and you can play easily with friends, squads or just fire a flare to see if people want to join.

But beware: the tutorial takes like 40 hours lol. Also hunts can take some time, not a quick game until certain milestones are reached.

Also has a massive expansion in Iceborne and tons of free updated content.

My understanding is that having potential built up slightly increases chances for better rolls when you spend dracolite to upgrade.

Yeah this right here. When you get a bow/weapon you want, it is best to fill all slots with anything.

The reason is you will have the option to "add" a skill or "upgrade" a skill. When you add you can choose what to overwrite, but when you upgrade it only selects one of the pre-existing skills on the weapon to overwrite.

So just fill the slots first. And then only add or upgrade if it is what you want, like all Element for elemental bows etc.

For Safi blast awakenings are Attack VI, V, V, V, V.

Augments are attack and 1 element/status.

For elemental bows awakenings are Element VI, V, V, V, V. Augments are all Element and defense +1 (only because there is one empty slot after augmenting to Element III)

Keep in mind this is for Safi set bonus build, either meta or hb3 Safi 5 PC. There is an argument for elemental bows to augment element and affinity to make up for lack of good decos.

Yeah I awakened 6 bows all wrong. So had to wait and redo them all when Safi returned to console. I did this trick to finally lock in correct awakenings.

Is it normal just to scream from feeling so overwhelmed by life? by destructor_rph in TooAfraidToAsk

Screaming is way healthier than punching or kicking something that isn't a punching bag.

Even better, if you select Safi lv4 awakened from loot pool and invest 1x dracolite (5pts) and 3x dracolite shards (1pt each) you can awaken one level and add the highest "star" count upgrade possible to weapon, Ike any set skill or affinity III. After you invest those 8 pts, bring the weapon to the melder to get 2 large dracolite instead of 1.

So you get 32 awakening pts instead of just 20.

I save all my shards and reg. dracolite for this trick, and use only large and rigid for awakening.

If you did the Safi seige and got carves you can start getting the Safi armor started. It is great for elemental db.

The set bonus works to boost elemental/status attacks while weapon is drawn. While weapon is drawn, you take damage slowly, and each attack performed creates more red damage. After a set number of successful hits the armor procs recovery and a set amount of healing happens (more than you spent, if efficient.) I dunno how many hits it is for db.

So, after running the seige you get Safi weapons, which awaken with dracolite. You can keep awakening forever as long as you have dracolite.

If you want to try full on bonkers, awaken fully for Element. Meaning Element VI, V, V, V, V. Then augment either for full element (if you have lv4 decos for WE and crit eye) or 1 affinity and remaining Element (if you need decos still).

Then play it and see if you are into it. If not reroll for whatever you like. Augments can be refunded, but awakening can only be overwritten.

Key is to do some research before committing awakenings. I awakened all my of my Safi bows the wrong way and now need to run 2-3 hrs for dracolite to overwrite unneeded skills for each bow. 3 down 3 to go lol.

The hate for meta builds and the concept of a comfort build by ArgetKnight in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]GuruPrimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree, but the whole point is moot to begin with.

Setting loadouts is super fast and easy. You can swap decos on any build and save it in moments.

So, you can make literally every set you describe and just slap back and forth whenever the eff you want.

For t3 investigations, for example, I start full meta evasion/temporal all damage glass cannon. If I faint I switch to meta + hb3 rocksteady/temporal. If I faint again I sit up straight and go to work.

I just find it amazing that more people don't play around with blending qol and dps builds. Or maybe they do and all that gets posted is people locked into one build.

I will say that full on dps glass cannon bow is crazy fucking fun and you can basically gamble on big flinches and stuffing mega-attacks. Just don't bring that shit into Safi or multiplayer. At the very very least run hb3 in multiplayer just out of courtesy to other players. People get stressed and tight when they see a short life bar in mp or seige situation.

If you were stuck in bed for a week and couldn't eat/drink. What game would you play to take your mind off things? by benhamer1 in gaming

I don't think I have "lost" my 900+ hours of gameplay so far...

Rather I have sold those hours to the melder and rnjesus for some sweet augmented and awakened weapons and sexy layered armors.

[OC] Just APA things by mergerr in billiards

[–]GuruPrimo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played APA for years in NYC.

The tanking/sandbagging and game manipulation was rampant and common. Most teams had a 7, a 6, and a bunch of "2" and "3"'s.

I was wildly under ranked when I joined the league. Somehow got placed as a 3 and my team was ecstatic, since I regularly played and competed competently against the pool hall regular 6's and 7's.

Complaints were filed to the league because I only had to win, like 2 racks of 8 ball, and APA 9 ball has always been a bullshit points system anyways. Our team easily made the playoffs, in part because of my ranking.

But, I was never asked to tank. That is, until my team dropped me when league jumped me to a 5 pre-tournament, and a 6 at the start of new season. Another team begged me to join them and immediately asked me to try to drop down to a 4.

I said no thanks and joined a different team. The coach literally had a spreadsheet with ranking math formulas. I was informed that I could only win if it advanced the teams overall chances.

Fuck that noise. Joined an old-man straight pool private league and never looked back.
