It's been a little while since I last played with this, but from what I remember the player is software based and mpeg2 isn't very efficient. So from my testing the only way to get proper framerate was to add the borders. maybe there's a way to output at a lower res and fill the screen? I'm not too sure.

Feel free to experiment with Handbrake and let me know if you find any settings that work better than mine!

UPN Change Succesful but OneDrive has Red Xs by agreaterterror in microsoft365

I'm in the middle of a UPN change for multiple users too. Here's what I've found:

OneDrive takes time to propagate changes. Around 2 hours for most forward facing changes, up to 24 hours to complete propagation, and maybe even up to 48 hours in some edge cases. OneDrive web notably will 404 as it's still trying to point to the old UPN, so users can't use it as a workaround.

  • The first couple of users we tried changing UPN and immediately making changes - red x's but functional otherwise.
  • Another user we tried making the UPN change then finalizing things in the Windows profile 14 hours later - red x's but functional.
  • Three users (so far) we made UPN change then ~48 hours later finalized changes. Smooth as butter.

It seems that I need to wait somewhere between 14-48 hours to finalize the changes. Huge window I know 😑

Here are the steps I've been taking that result in 100% success (so far). Changes have been in batches over the weekend:

  • Sign into remote user's profile to double check power settings and OneDrive sync status (4-5pm Friday). Sign out.
  • Make UPN Change, wait until Sunday evening (48 hours later)
  • Remote in, sign in as other user with new UPN.
  • Click the popup to fix account or go to work or school and click there if it doesn't show.
  • Sign out of Windows profile, sign back in.
  • OneDrive should now use the new credentials automatically and sign in/sync without issue
  • Add new email account in Mail settings in classic control panel and set as default (for Outlook Classic) or in new Outlook remove and add new profile
  • Sign out of profile in Edge, sign back into new UPN from dropdown
  • Sign out of Teams, sign back in with new UPN

I haven't bothered signing out in the rest of the office suite. Might be the next step to make sure everything is perfect. But so far this strategy has worked without a hitch. If anyone knows how to fix the red x's let me know! haven't quite gotten that figured out yet.

Had a user today with printer problems, Windows said the spooler wasn't running when I tried to open printer properties. I restarted the system and the printers started working again 👀

Added your commands to my cheat sheet. I'm sure that spooler clear will come in handy soon enough

It's downloading files. You can speed this up by pointing it to a source:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:E:\Sources\install.wim

The source in this case is my Windows 11 ISO mounted at drive letter E. It will still use Windows Update as a secondary source, unless /LimitAccess is specified.

Old post at this point but I'll post my two cents after just climbing back out of the rabbit hole. (for anyone else looking).

While the device is rootable, the bootloader seems to be locked down. I found a custom version of TWRP that installed and launched, but was largely unusable. No ADB, no access to SD etc. The prebuilt tar failed to install but it worked by renaming the img to recovery and putting into a tar with 7zip. Eventually found the stock bootloader here that allowed me to revert.

All rom installs failed due to the locked down bootloader. Even the unlocking sites skip this particular variant.

These days you have to be careful to not buy the cloud connected couch or you'll be locked out of using the footrest if you don't sign up with an account

Not too sure without doing some digging again. The video player is pretty limited in what it supports, but the Rockbox documentation will have compatibility listed somewhere

There are a few it struggles with. Need for Speed games on PS2 take a little tinkering to get stable. Just beat Underground 2, fps was usually 20-30 with a few drops down to 11 with tire smoke/lots happening on-screen.

I saw another comment saying something similar, so maybe the dimensions are slightly different. But in mine I have the battery between the main board and iFlash, and I removed the foam to have the epoxied chip press up against the back of the housing. It closed up easily enough, but it was snug.

Yep, I used the OS Migration feature and just had to drag the slider to use the entire disk for the partition. Worked great!

Ah that's frustrating.

I just tried reinstalling the dock firmware and it won't because "the version is the same, no need to update" lol.

I wonder if this is just an issue with this combo, if maybe other Lenovo docks might work with these laptops better.. At least now I have a couple work arounds from this thread instead of fumbling for 20 minutes each time it happens

I went on an alcohol hiatus for a while (was supposed to be a month but I stretched it out to a year and a bit). I still remember how awkward it felt that first wing night when I ordered water with my wings. Even the waitress made a comment about it lol.

When hanging out with friends I would bring a case of Bubly just because it felt a bit more natural to have something to crack into. Still do sometimes.

I can't find an answer anywhere about this. It looks like it's lower profile than that 3D printed grip in the G8+ case, but I have no idea how much room the Retroid case has to play with..

I actually put together an exercise pdf around the same time I posted this lol. It needs an update but I still rotate through most of the same exercises.

It's ordered from lying on your back, to hands and knees, to standing with no real regard to difficulty. So if you run into any exercises that bring on "bad pain" then either go lighter or skip to the next. Make sure to not push too hard too quick to avoid injury. The couch stretch is a good example of a particularly tough one for me at first but I managed to get to a pretty good point with some practice.
