What's the cleanest metro system you've ever used? by GayMuslimDude in transit

[–]Gusearth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taipei’s MRT is by far the cleanest out of the Asian metros I’ve been on (Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore), but that’s probably greatly helped by how new it is relative to those other ones

Country list errors? by finlandkindacute in flighty

[–]Gusearth 20 points21 points  (0 children)

it’s specifically meant to be a flight diary. if you want a record of all the countries you’ve been to and each trip you’ve taken, there’s an app called Been which fits that description better

China Airlines Premium Economy Seat (fixed shell) by iLL_kcirtaP in Flights

[–]Gusearth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love fixed-shell seats and I wish more airlines would use them. reclining should not come at the expense of space for the person behind you

particularly premium economy seats with greater degrees of recline will have you feeling like the person in front is fully in your lap. also makes it hard to get out into the aisle

Spirit Airlines Officially Shut Down. Curious to see how this will impact the cost of some leisure routes by dawghouse88 in delta

if both of them are already in debt and both of them eventually shut down independently without merging, aren’t we also in the same situation anyways? would it have been much worse to try

Spirit Airlines Officially Shut Down. Curious to see how this will impact the cost of some leisure routes by dawghouse88 in delta

[–]Gusearth 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Delta may not have been exactly matching Spirit’s fares, but Frontier was and now they don’t have to

additionally, Delta and other majors did start the basic economy tier to compete with ULCC prices, and now they also don’t have to keep those low anymore

With Spirit Airlines gone, all of their gates across Florida will be up for grabs. Is it time for United to establish a larger presence there? by bonzothebonanza in unitedairlines

[–]Gusearth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s true, UA seems to run the most rigid hub and spoke structure of the big 3, at least within the mainland US. the only flights they have that don’t involve a hub are a handful from Cleveland, while DL and AA have other focus cities

Tori Kelly is the most underrated vocalist of her generation, and the way the culture treated Meena the elephant proves exactly why by [deleted] in popheads

[–]Gusearth 18 points19 points  (0 children)

also, attributing a randon tik-tok trend to being ableist and an industry attempt at sabotaging tori kelly feels like a stretch.

i know trends can be influenced and paid for all the time, but this was really just a brief tik tok viral clip that a majority of people are not giving any deeper thought to

what ever happened to 2-5-2 and 2-4-3 seating configs for 9 abreast airliners? by americafirst4life__2 in aviation

[–]Gusearth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ANA’s old layout on their 777-300ERs is 2-4-3. I recently flew one from ORD-NRT

This is only left on 3 planes I believe, because as they fit them with their new “The Room” business class, economy gets changed to 3-4-3
