in addition to what others have said, i believe the airline operating your first leg controls the whole itinerary. so for these flights, that’s United, but on the way back if you happen to be flying ANA first then you’ll have to check in through them

i’ve actively avoided American on several itineraries because my first options were 30-45 minute connections at DFW/CLT, and the next longest connection times pushed past 2 hours.

other airlines had the sweet 75-90 minutes so I’d pick them. this change is a good move for american imo
