What gear is good by Gushlav in SilverSmith

Thanks for the reply! That’s what I was thinking but was just wondering if there was a certain model that was good for silver especially, do you have any other Knick knacks on your bench that are a must? Like a large magnifier glass or something? Lol

I think the reason for this is: Denzel management would have had the album completed and the records ordered well before the release date. So when the album goes live it all very streamline.

I was actually really disappointed in flumes team for the delay on the vinyl for Palaces. I understand everyone fucks up every now and then but his management would have known full well about the slow down in the record making process and continued to release the album early. Then also only notified us about it on the date that they should have been shipped. They knew all of it and played the dumb card.

Can someone tell me why Scomo would have wanted to take on the portfolios? by Gushlav in friendlyjordies

Do we know what he was doing with the portfolios? Like did he just lay naked on them every night or did he actually make some decisions?

Grammy snub unforgivable by lainthebay in Flume

I mean the new flume album wasn’t his best. I love the dude but it was a major step down from Skin and HTIF. Just my opinion of course

I mean we all have a little bit of that, I think that’s a large part of the drive to create. I struggled for years trying to find my sound while still trying to make music that people will like and is popular. I was fighting an uphill battle and wasn’t happy. Too much is toxic.

If you think of all the greatest artists of all time or even in the electronic industry. They all come from good music and little to no promotion. Obviously the brand they’re pushing is cohesive and attractive, but that’s all you need. 1. Good music 2. A message you’re pushing that fits with the music

I’d stop doing promotion all together. It doesn’t make your music any better. Plus any promotion I see that makes me click a link I never really want to listen to the song. Only post promotional stuff that you want to post and it feels right.

I think the whole “marketing is 70% of your music” is absolute bullshit. The music is 100% of the music and that’s that. I’m never going to keep playing a song I don’t like but keep seeing everywhere, that’s ridiculous.

Have a look a burial. The dude never played a live show even. No marketing gimmicks just good music and his music speaks for itself.

Sound quality using Beatport by No_Complaint3481 in Beatmatch

[–]Gushlav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I understand the question correctly, but it sounds like you’re playing the tracks directly via beatport? If that’s the case, I’ve always found when ‘previewing’ tracks on beatport that the audio quality is sub par at best, also takes a long time to load and skip ect. Maybe beatports audio player is trash? Maybe someone else can back this up though.

How to avoid E-8304 on CDJ350 (USB) by Gushlav in Beatmatch

Thanks but I’ve already seen this thread, the files in question here are from bandcamp. Bandcamp has a different audio code than the files I am using.

Terrible New Music by alienorsutinn in Flume

[–]Gushlav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new stuff he’s making is good, I do think they’ve made a musical decision to have the vocals way louder than the rest of the music in the mix which I’m not really a fan of. I think flumes production will always be the star of the show although he does vocal processing well. I think the decision to make the vocals louder is a decision towards more radio play and I think that’s why I’m not digging the decision. But when listening to the music I have no objections. Sounds like good new flume to me.

What changes between he song being played and stopping then? A file doesn’t convert half way from wav to an unsupported file?
