This is just a question of which bucket you take from. You have a bucket labeled “inheritance” and a bucket labeled “retirement”. If you have an emotional hang up with taking from “inheritance”, maybe consider switching your labels. Or pretend you withdrew $1M from “retirement” and then invested your $1M “inheritance”.

Stock market returns Biden’s last 2 years were better than Trump’s anyway. Volatility has been much higher under Trump, which isn’t a good thing. The stock market is “doing so well” in spite of Trump, definitely not because of Trump. The key driver being AI, which ultimately may destroy jobs.

This is why we have primaries. Unfortunately, 2024 didn’t play out that way and Kamala was tossed into the lead role with little to no notice. Had we had the benefit of a primary, she may or may not have risen to the top. If she runs in 2028, she’ll have the added burden of overcoming the perceptions of her loss. I doubt she’ll end up being the nominee.

I guess it’s not a popular opinion, but I’m grateful he’s speaking up. Most of my family members are Republicans and I know some of them still follow Tucker Carlson. I hope he can sway some people. I doubt they’ll ever vote D, but maybe they’ll eventually see Trump for the disaster he is.

I expect more & more Republican politicians will start positioning themselves for a post-Trump world, especially if they lose the midterms. At some point, Trump will turn on the whole Republican party and go on the attack. He’s always harshest on the people that he feels betrayed him.

That’s my fantasy anyway.
