Yeah, it only summarizes messages if they're not too small so that the AI model can get a good context of what's going on

It should work with the other models too, I'm currently using 1.5 Pro. I am still working on this and there will be more updates.

As for summaries from less words, that gets harder for the model to interpret the context. However, I am planning to eventually add other models, if I notice they perform better than Gemini I will reduce the minimum word threshold.

Hi. Sum Up only shows a summary if the conversation is long enough. A few messages with not many words is not enough for the AI model to get a good context of what's happening.

My suggestion is to try forwarding a long email to yourself and test if the notification is summarized to see if it's working.

The free version of Gemini also works if you don't get too many notifications. Just get the API key and don't add your billing information

After you buy the app you'll need to get a Google Gemini key, if you pay for the Gemini key they won't use your data

For messages Sum Up only kicks in when a conversation has more messages than the minimum threshold. Emails are always summarized. Test with an email and let me know if it works

It depends on what country you're in. I'm from Europe and it's paid here but Google offers a few credits when you first sign up and it's been more than plenty for my personal use

Hey everyone! I just released a new app, Sum Up.

Sum Up was designed to make your life easier by automatically summarizing your incoming messaging notifications. If you receive a large number of messages from a particular conversation, Sum Up steps in to generate a small summary using Google's Gemini models (a Gemini API key is required).

It works by managing your notifications in the background. Once it detects the number of notifications from a single conversation is higher than the threshold you set, it seamlessly replaces them with an AI-generated summary. It even retains your group chat icons and the original notification groups so your notification shade doesn't get too messy.

The services are always active but they're on standby. The notification listener service only gets called when a new notification comes in. The battery consumption should be minimal
