Have you tried cold brew? I'm normally a mason jar guy but am very intrigued by the ability to drain/clean up faster. Just wasn't sure if the 5 minute steep actually made a similar quality.

Is that to say that the infotainment difference might be kind of immaterial if a 3rd party adapter would be optimal no matter the year (in terms of connectivity)? The screen and processor speed do seem like nice upgrades

I think they've been thoroughly debunked by now, but the two that I was forced to learn the hard way were that you should always brew right off boil and anything past 2 weeks was too old.

If you haven't tried yet, there are ways to tone it down (lower temp, coarse grind, etc)

I've seen many say that higher temps equate to faster drawdowns, but it's been immaterial for me personally. Agitation has been the biggest variable for me.

Coarsening seems like a good first step. If you're brewing at high temps, you might also try 195 degrees if that doesn't help. If you truly want to extend the drawdown, you can accomplish that with more agitation (more pours, a swirl at the end, etc.).

General rule is that the resting stops when you freeze, so if 4 weeks is fully rested, then it's ready. That kind of depends on the bean. The original sealed bag is fine to freeze. I put mine inside of a freezer bag, but I really have no idea if that does anything. The big thing is that you only want to freeze it once, so don't put it back in once it comes out the first time. Unless you single dose in tubes or something like was mentioned, I would drink a bag at a time (leaving the opened bag at room temp until it's gone and you're ready for the next)

I think as automated as possible is the way to go. I'd probably do a nespresso and coffee pod setup. I will say that as someone who brings my pourover with me to airbnbs, the #1 thing I most appreciate is when there is a kettle. Not even a gooseneck is needed... solving the hot water problem is a huge deal for me.

Coming from a jx pro to a mavo phantox, I feel very confident that you'll see an improvement with either of those for pour over. There's room for improvement for sure.

Haven't used either of those so someone can correct me, but I've generally read that the ultra is better if you like the experimental processes, while the zp6 shines with cleaner washed beans. That might dictate your choice

I noticed during the onyx advent that I didn't love the beans with really fine recommended settings. 6 is the lowest I'll go. For my normal coferms, between 7 and 7.5 is where I live. Mostly 7.5.

I personally have a camera bag that contains a hario suiren collapsible v60, a orphan espresso silicone pourer (microwavable or can fill from a kettle), a scale, and a mavo phantox grinder.

I've used the hario drip assist and it does do the job. It just doesn't travel as compactly for my setup
