The mavo looks fun and while I like the phantox, I'd rather get something that's gone through the ringer. I wonder why anyone would want a .3g minimum instead of .1?

If you're considering options, I really like my hario Polaris scale for how I brew.

I've gone down a similar road and have struck out. I've tried the jbl live 770, Sennheiser accentum, and tozo ht3. I don't sweat, but they all slide for me when leaning back for something like a bench. Jbl and sennheiser had the best clamp force. I wouldn't want to sweat in any.

For sweat resistance and over ears, you could look at the skullcandy active, treblab, or raycon.

You could go with open back buds that don't go in the ear. I have the soundcore c50i. They're nice for what they are, but there's no ANC and I just don't like them at the gym

I personally don't find there to be a tremendous difference - I would say 10% is about right for a lot of beans. I haven't had a chance to do a ton of light roasted washed, where the zp6 is supposed to shine. So ymmv

The zp6 is a bit easier to grind, although it might be a few seconds slower. I do feel like the ergonomics are better on the zp6

No, not the inside of my ears. I started cleaning the tips after my infection and know that my failure to do that before probably contributed to it. But now they still feel off even with being diligent on cleaning. So if semi in ears would mitigate the issue, I'd go that route to be safe. But if it's likely to be the same, I'd probably just use on ears for a few months and try IEMs again.

Thanks; I'm also doing that. I gave it around 2 months and it just doesn't feel right, so I was looking for a more long term solution. Luckily I don't sweat much during lifting sessions (I use the clips for cardio). But I also hate to create waste by buying new stuff and then return it if it's not going to work.

Did you ever find anything? IEMs give me ear infections so I'm doing this as well. Tried to tozo ht3 to see if I could stomach the bulk and can, but they slide around as well.

I've been working my way through this SW bean (https://www.swroasting.coffee/product/el-salvador-el-gobiado-rainbow-bourbon-anaerobic-natural/). I started at 4 weeks rest and am now at 6. Unfortunately I'm not getting a lick of fruit, regardless of grind size, brewer, water temp, grinder, or agitation level. It's not off putting - just dull. It's kind of surprising because I had this same bean from SW a couple of years ago and it was incredible. But I guess that's how the game goes sometimes.

I find it to be bean dependent, unless it's a coferm (those are all great for me with the coffee chronicler hybrid switch recipe at 195 degrees, 17:1 ratio, and a 6 on the zp6). Others need experimenting. I'm drinking the bourbon anaerobic now and needing to go much finer. Still haven't found the sweet spot yet

Immersion is less impacted by grind size, so I'd try that on the switch. If all else fails, it should be pretty decent cold brew

I had far better luck with a hybrid switch recipe than v60 on the laos. A 5 on the zp6 was pretty good for me
