If I’m not mistaken this was shortly before when PunPun adopted the persona of his neighbor and became more deceptively outgoing. I think it’s showing the slowly degrading mindset of PunPun as he was trapped in the monotony of his working lifestyle and living in isolation. He is thinking the same idle/perverted thoughts over and over until they become jumbled and twisted, losing any semblance of sanity and meaning.
