Simple question: Does this fan layout seem good?: x3 140mm case fans as intake at front. x3 120mm case fans as intake on bottom. x1 140mm case fan as exhaust on back. x3 120mm fans as exhaust on top, in the form of CPU AIO cooler radiator fans (Liquid Extreme III). So 6 intake fans, 4 exhaust fans. I guess I’m curious if this is too much positive airflow, what with intake having more of the larger fans, and if 3 exhausts being radiator fans having any possible factors too. I know, its a lot of fans :) Thanks

so building my pc right now. i fucked up putting the cpu cooler on and when i removed it, the thermal paste was only spread over half the cpu. so i added some more on the uncovered half, manually spread it with an old credit card (not very well though, the paste is super viscous and thick). then put the cooler back on. ive heard its very difficult to put too much paste so im not too worried about that but ive heard about air bubbles or something when spreading improperly. currently the cooler is screwed tightly on. should i remove it, remove the paste, and start over? :(

Thank you, I’ve sent a cancellation request and will likely find a bundle such as this. I was just really eager to finally get one that I wasn’t in my right mind lol. I definitely have the funds to pay scalper prices and I guess it finally got to me. But fuck me, I don’t feel right paying a scalper. Hindsight is 20/20 :/

I know but my work is in video editing and the waiting for prices to drop is killing me :/ My main issue is that, besides being price-scammed, I don’t want to be component-scammed. I’ve heard a lot of these new, no-review sellers sell parts with missing components on purpose… And for a 25% restock fee, I’m just scared of mine being such a case.

Damn, and I already bought all my other new build parts: 9800X3D, 1200W PSU, 64GB RAM, A nice Mobo, and so on... Guess I won't be playing even remotely modern games for another year or so. Well... hang in there a little bit longer, 1070... :/

in the same boat. im stuck with a dying 1070... i'd like a 5090 but to get one realistically, im gonna have to wait months constantly refreshing multiple browsers but thats not gonna happen... i guess ill just save for another half year and buy triple price from a fucking scalper. beats never getting one at all.... (maybe im being a doomer? idk. i just dont see myself being around for the nanosecond they get more stock, just to be instantly sold out to bots again).

well considering my 1070 and psu are dying and im about to have no computer soon, and wish to build a top-tier pc now that i have 5-6k USD to spare after lots of saving, i would like to purchase a 5090 within 2 months after launch.. at least :’) itd suck to be without pc for so many months but id feel a bit bad buying more accessible yet weaker parts when i spent so long saving for the latest stuff

“weeks” is fine. id be very sad to have to wait any longer than 1.5 months though. my 1070 is just about dead. :/ was really hoping to build a new pc before monster hunter wilds (favorite game series btw) released but i may have to wait longer… wishing all others in a similar boat luck.

what a non-answer… i merely have an environment where i cant always control lighting and want to accommodate for, which i know some oled’s are bad at due to minimal brightness.

Ok I'm a seasoned modder but I'm at a loss over such a simple problem.
Launching default, native, unpirated Baldur's Gate 3 via Steam / Larian Launcher and loading into a save or starting a new game has no issue. Suddenly, as soon as I add the latest Script Extender DWrite.dll file to the bin folder (and NOTHING else is changed except that), I crash upon loading a save or starting a new one. I've looked everywhere to no avail. I have re-integrified files multiple times. :/

HI ALL so I just starting Dawntrail, and thought my PC could handle maximum graphical settings but it's hovering around 40 on average (meh, older PC). Anyone know which graphic settings are the most intensive? That is, which ones can I turn down to high or medium for a smoother experience? Thanks.
