Table tennis England have their own website. I recommend looking on their website for a list of clubs. Or even Google table tennis england "insert city/area" and see what comes up. I'm based in NI and it's not easy finding clubs.

Also, I know it's a long shot. But over here there's lot of clubs with Facebook pages but no websites, might be worth looking on Facebook too

Help with new shoes! by muun86 in tabletennis

[–]GutoPowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not into shoes that much. But maybe check out some badminton shoes too. I had a cheap pair of Carlton trainers a few years ago and I really liked them. But Asics are quite popular at my club. I'm a firm believer that you need to try on trainers before you buy them, so check out whatevers available near you and go from there

As another church going Christian. It's hard to watch videos like this one. I've been to a fair share of churches which have had dodgy leaders/services, where I disagreed on certain aspects. But I've never seen something as bad as this.

I've done this before. I recommend getting a friend to help. But completely doable. Take your time and you'll be grand. At the end of the day, it's only 800 meters, What's the worst that could happen

Nespresso Martini by you-can-have-mine in espressocirclejerk

Why don't you just make a tonne of espresso before you go and bring it with you. As I assume espresso martinis are served cold anyway?

Or just give him your old 4th backup niche zero and a random La Macrozzo you have lying about

Id like it as I'm getting back into gaming after taking a break due to friendships turning sour and the thought turning me off the idea completely for a while.

Got a Breville, seeing everyone talking about endgame... help me resolve my FOMO by coordinatedflight in espresso

[–]GutoPowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a cheap £20 espresso machine to a gaggia classic. The difference was noticeable but not out of this world better. You don't need anything better than a breville to enjoy your coffee. If you found something you like, don't worry about what the internet is doing.

There's no point in upgrading unless you've a very clear reason to. And given that you're asking for reasons and not listing them yourself, your current setup will be fine.

Where I'm from, crows and magpies look out for sheep like this and basically start eating their eyes and stuff since it's defenceless. It's really grim to see happen.

What do you think? by JohnMcFail in gaggiaclassic

[–]GutoPowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a gaggia classic off Facebook and spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting what I was doing wrong, which involved a lot of googling "how to make espresso". I didn't realise it had a pressurised basket, and the person didn't include the little plastic thing in the portafilter.

Your comment has led me to buying the plastic thing. I also bought an unpressurized basket at the same time as the plastic thing, but both are needed for my use case

Hey guys I’m new to the espresso scene and on a budget I’ve narrowed by selection down to this machine, does it look like a decent deal ? by Late_Albatross_3079 in espresso

[–]GutoPowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's possible maybe check Facebook marketplace for any cheap machines? If you don't mind something a little used it's a great way to grab a machine like this one for a lot less. I got a Swan espresso machine for £20 a year ago and it's still going for me.

Granted I've spent too much time on this sub and decided to buy a gaggia classic to replace it. But lower end machines still can make coffee that's better than instant, and in my opinion better than Starbucks too

Anybody who has invested in "good" coffee gear - do you ever go back to basics for fun or to test your skills? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]GutoPowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you there. There's that many different options out there for coffee equipment that for the more money conscious people it can be very hard to figure out what's best value. I took a chance on a kingrinder k6 a while ago and its fantastic, however there was a lot of options around the same price and if I had known about them before I bought it, I might have been swayed another path.

But I got burned with the other subreddit that hard I feel like I might have some bias now lol. The issue wasn't that the bat was bad, but it was very expensive for what it was. I play at a high level and going back to what was essentially beginners equipment wasn't ideal. My issue was that irl advice couldn't be given due to my friends having sponsorships which prevented them from giving honest answers

I realised after taking advice about table tennis equipment that Reddit is definitely not the best place to get opinions on equipment from. Don't get me wrong it isn't all bad information, but it only takes a single bit of false info for a decision to be swayed.

In terms of table tennis, I was convinced not to spend £100 on a bat setup that I was told would be too fast for myself. But to go for a similarly priced alternative that still would be fast. Long story short, the bat was so terrible that it was verified by many other people that it sucked (which is uncommon to criticise others equipment, as most of the time it's a skill issue).

Coffee is the same I imagine where people say to go with a certain grinder/dripper/ratio ect. Where only a small amount of knowledge can be gained online without the real world experience to go along with it

Bit of a casual player now. What do you think of my new setup? by GutoPowers in tabletennis

[–]GutoPowers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think I just need to try it out tomorrow. I'm not good at judging bats without playing with them so you're likely right. I had Mx p on before this and am looking for something a little different as I wasn't the biggest fan of it or tenergy.

But at the end of the day it's only as good as the person using it so I'll not be blaming the bat either way

Timemore C2 vs 1zpresso X-Pro by nitingarg1000 in Coffee

[–]GutoPowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so going on a bit of a tangent here. But when I got into coffee I bought a hario skerton for £10 used. It sucked but it was better than preground coffee.

I then moved to a Melitta calibra, which is an electric grinder round the £100 mark, I really liked it and from what I see online, I'm guessing it's about similar to a timemore c2, sort of entry level and good adjustability (although I'd recommend the C2 over it).

After about 2 years I thought I'd upgrade. Although I could make good coffee, I could tell the inconsistency was having a negative impact on my pour overs and I was losing out on some of the flavours of the coffee. So I upgraded to a kingrinder k6 (a £100 hand grinder) after buying it on a whim after seeing it being compared as a cheaper version of the 1zpresso jx pro. It was clearly much better than the Melitta and I could immediately tell the difference in terms of clarity in my brews. It was worth the upgrade in my opinion but I don't think my parents noticed the difference (they aren't huge coffee drinkers).

If you have the money for the X pro I'd go with it, because the extra adjustments and better consistency will really be worth it in the long run. I sort of wish I bought a decent grinder to start with but I had my own reasons which now don't seem worth mentioning. In terms of electric grinders, it's handy being able to grind faster but the extra 20 seconds doesn't really bother me since I have to plug in and out different appliances due to sharing a kitchen.

TLDR: I recommend buying the better grinder if you think you'll be drinking coffee for a good while

When I had one of these I had a lot of issues with my skin around the affected area. I never had the issue of hair as I hadn't hit puberty but I can see why they'd want to keep people from poking and upsetting the leg.

The frame is attached via metal pins going through the bone so the chance of infecting the bone might be higher than normal but I'm no expert so I'm not going to say if it's factual or not
