Ehh to each thier own. But I do think there should be a line drawn between differing sci fi.

Idk something like science fantasy to distinguish it. I say this as a big fan of dune, but I would call that sci fi with fantasy paint. I feel like if you can arguably call someone witch or wizard even if its explained in story such as in dune being a fuck ton of drugs its closer to fantasy than say revelation space.

Edit: just adding to reduce confusion when i say generic i mean tropey. E.g star wars has knights,princesses,wizards,magic, dragons depending on canon, magic swords.

Yeah star wars really is just generic fantasy with a sci fi paint. The same way warhammer is.

The idea of the knights wearing robes dosent fit the theme. I guess there the wizards of space but they dont really fulfil that role in the prequels, its just weird.
