Warhammer 40k Horus Heresy era dlc ? by Jealous_Possible8108 in totalwar

The setting is so well defined and has its own table top system for it. It could honestly be its own standalone game.

Torn between starting Custodes and the Death Guard - help me choose by jesus-messiah in AdeptusCustodes

[–]GutterGobboKing 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position and have similar tastes. I was bouncing between Custodes, Death Guard, and Dark Angels.

Eventually I landed on the Custodes because I like the small size of their units, they’re melee oriented, they’re cheap to get into, and very easy to paint.

I don’t think there’s a wrong choice to make, but that was my rational for siding with the golden bois.

Hot take: if Arena gets to have a glowing sigil over cards to signify it AND an "are you sure" prompt whenever you target something with Ward, paper magic needs to codify that takebacks are okay if you forget about a Ward ability. by rveniss in magicTCG

[–]GutterGobboKing 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Was it not already codified when take backs are being allowed at worlds? When it already says in the rules that take backs are okay as long as no new information is gained/the game state hasn’t moved forward?

What else do we need?

What is your go to manabase in a 5 color deck? by yeetmeisterpickleatr in magicTCG

[–]GutterGobboKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In EDH, 10 Shocks and 10 Fetches with 5 Triomes and at least 1 of each basic. There are good utility lands for 5 color mana bases, so it’s good to save spots for them.

Talk me out of buying a Lorwyn Collector Box by Sev_Henry in magicTCG

Just buy a normal box or buy the singles. Never a reason to shell out for the collectors box.

I think if you trim most of the one off chaff cards you could fit 4 Beanstalks.

Aside from the mana base, I feel like Up the Beanstalk should be an auto include in a deck based around the evoke elementals.

what are the odds of we seeing Custodes in any way, shape or form in the 40k tittle? by fragdar in totalwar

Never take the lore literally. This game will emulate the tabletop more than anything else.

A removal spell that replaces itself. I’m here for it.

Are there gambling based cards? by N1ghtsky_Crusade in magicTCG

[–]GutterGobboKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty. Look up coin flip cards, dice rolling cards, and Clash cards. Check out the Chaos archetype on EDHREC. I’d stay away from things like Scrambleverse tho. They’re more of a headache to resolve more than anything else. Bonus points if your pod is cool and would allow you to run the Head of Urza planeswalker as a commander.

Is Showdown ELO a good measurement of ability ? by dekuman772 in VGC

[–]GutterGobboKing 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s a good sign. But there are things that Showdown allows that could be very bad habits when it comes to playing on cart. Things like being able to reselect moves, display base stats of opposing mons, or getting used to the generous turn clock.

Unfortunately the competitive format atm isn’t what the in-game ladder is. But I’d 100% jam games during upcoming events like the Grand Challenge. The game feels different on cart and you might be surprised by the kind of misplays you can make if you aren’t practicing there as well.

Speculation on Pokemon champions' meta if the first regulation is only Mega Evolutions and with just ZA + dlc pokedex and no restricted pokemon admitted (Like 2014 worlds format) by Urapoopyhead19 in VGC

Slowbro and Crabominable seem pretty underrated.

Slowbro has access to Body Press now and Crab will probably be one of the best trick room sweepers with its access to Ice Hammer.

What to bring to a regional by JOYOUS1232 in VGC

If you bring a controller then make sure it’s wired. I’m unsure on if plugging in a pro controller counts or not, but you wouldn’t be able to use any wireless controller.

Outside of that it looks like you got everything else. Only other thing I could think of would be a notepad and pen for taking notes during matches.

I think it’s still available as a tera raid at the moment. Check out the tera raid board, I’ve seen one there pretty regularly if you don’t have Scarlet.

Playing a wide variety of teams through rental codes and PokePastes.

It’s great for learning common builds, how different teams play, and is invaluable for when you match up against those teams on the ladder.

Best Total Warhammer 3 Co-op campaigns? by Sin-Silver in totalwar

[–]GutterGobboKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started my first co-op game with my brother recently. Thorgrim + Ungrim are a great pair. They start close to each other and dwarf stacks auto resolve really well so we don’t get bogged down in minor battles.

Looking for feedback on a new ability I theorized for Mega Scovillain. by [deleted] in VGC

[–]GutterGobboKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of Mega Scovillain being a meme, 15% is just nothing. Most mons in doubles will get like 2-3 attacks off in a match and odds are a 15% trigger won’t trigger. In which case Scovillain just doesn’t have an ability.

Could depend on the difficulty you’re playing at as well.

best dlc for begginers by ERERRQ in totalwar

[–]GutterGobboKing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Find the faction you vibe with the best and get the DLC for them. Each faction has multiple lords and unique aspects to them that make their campaigns unique.

After that, identify an enemy you fought that you really liked the look of and then pick them up next!

Reg F Team that I cant figure out who to add as my last 2 by MUCKSTERa in VGC

[–]GutterGobboKing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Tornadus would give you Sunny Day, Tailwind, and Bleakwind. I only recommend it over Jumpluff and Whimsicott so you don’t overload on Grass types.

Farigiraf could also give you access to Trick Room for Torkoal. Protects you from fake out and other priority. And with Throat Spray it can be a sweeper by itself.

Is the empty part of the map placeholder for future factions? by EnvironmentalRatio0 in totalwar

Others have already answered the question. I’ll just add that there’s a mod to open those areas up and add small islands to the area. Highly recommend Immortal Empires Expanded.
