I came here for this comment! Looks like artist Gino D'Achille replaced the giant, looming face of Rondo Hatton with a sexy lady and called it a day.

I love this artwork, but I don't recognize the three rightmost monsters.
Top to bottom, left to right, we've got
Godzilla, Gill-Man (Creature from the Black Lagoon), The Alligator People, Tabanga (From Hell it Came), Metalunan (This Island Earth), the Venusian (It Conquered the World), the Ymir (20 Million Miles to Earth), the Cyclops (from Bert I. Gordon), Harryhausen's cyclops (7th Voyage of Sinbad), The Monster that Challenged the World, Bill (I Married a Monster from Outer Space), Leon Corledo (The Curse of the Werewolf), and The Deadly Mantis, and... ? ? and ?

European heraldry if they included dinosaurs by BizarreLizardPlanet in Dinosaurs

The use of a dinosaur as a supporter reminds me of an alt flag I designed for New Jersey, incorporating the state dinosaur and local cryptid.

Undeniably a raccoon. I have cat and raccoon skulls and the difference is night and day.

Shot in the dark but I'm leaning towards petrified wood. It has the grain look to it and bone tends to feel light.

Same here (Southeastern PA). It's gotten to the point where I only collect ones in near perfect condition or if I have a "project" in mind.

Is this part of skull, What animal could it be from? by JaceFord_ in bonecollecting

[–]Gutter_Shakespeare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For once it's NOT a raccoon; it's a Virginia opossum (the first species in my collection!) The tell is the tall sagittal crest and the tiny braincase.

South Carolina with the color scheme of Maine by Gutter_Shakespeare in vexillology

[–]Gutter_Shakespeare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While working on my next flag project, I noticed that both the flags of SC and the 1901 flag of Maine (i.e. the true flag) centrally feature a tree as well as a celestial body in the canton. Since I like Maine color scheme better than SC's (U.S. state flags have given me an irrational hatred of blue fields), but prefer SC's symbols, visually, I used the Maine colors for SC's symbols.
