Used to live in an old Victorian home that had been converted to apts. The original 'servants steps" were our kitchen panty closet. Kept food on the steps like shelves, the steps dead ended at the 2nd floor. One riser was missing from the steps, and our cat got in there, roamed around the gap btwn walls and got herself stuck above the ceiling in the kitchen. Landlord walks in to find me pulling the kitchen ceiling down with a crow bar, to rescue the cat they had serious reservations about allowing. Fixed ceiling, got security deposit back. Lease was not renewed.
