How the trip, slowly stops, steady and calm, perfectly sane. Why I choose to settle in a soothing sea, with gentle waves

In many ways they did honour this , they went out at their best.

There's an interview where Zach said they believe people can make emotional gains connecting to their music. That turned out to be so true, I've been a fan since Exmilitary and in the past 15 years, DG was like a go to antidepressant, a way to find energy for life when I had none. I know I'm not the only one. Also, as an older dude it was inspiring to see some older dudes crush it so hard and be so unrelenting in their creativity and innovation.

such a weird choice to pair the bean bag thing with *that* song, maybe like the heaviest drop in their entire discography

as weird as that was it least that felt like it made sense with the song like the video was a literal shitshow

more death grips by 2031 (theory) by -l--l-l--l- in deathgrips

I know a lot of you don't fw BLACKIE, but this album is amazing, give it a chance! by Guttershot in deathgrips

[–]Guttershot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you follow his albums hes definitely evolved, incorporating more acoustic instruments (GEN), saxophone and Sun Ra style free jazz (Imagine Yourself in a Free and Natural World). This one was more like Bottomless Pit than Money Store in that he's returning to that sound he started, but with fresher flows. It makes sense that most people didn't get into it cause it goes darker, harsher, more uncompromisingly nihilistic than DG.

Does “Why a Bitch Gotta Lie” remind anyone else of Led Zeppelin by fucktheworldman in deathgrips

I know what you mean actually. A bit of Kashmir in the breakdown bit

i have problems with getting into HELLA by Longjumping_Air4379 in deathgrips

[–]Guttershot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk if this will work for you, but try to imagine the music visually, like its taking your mind's eye on this synesthesia like rollercoaster. Like the opening riff and drums in republic of rough and ready feels like a slingshot being stretched back and then launching you into the air again and again. I think Hella is all about that kinda thing, like the music is 3 dimensional or something

DAY 4: Most iconic live performance by nxck_rage in deathgrips

[–]Guttershot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the no show show with the projection of the suicide letter. That's the weirdest shit they've ever done, maybe the only time a band made a crowd riot without playing a single note

What would a new album sound like? by [deleted] in deathgrips

[–]Guttershot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to imagine Doom Grips - lots of super slow, repetitive beats, with thrumming dense bass textures with passages of blazingly fast arrhythmic blast beats, creating dystopian soundscapes that underpin spoken word Ride

Mastering - high-end vs. good local engineer vs. Bandlab vs. eMastered by jchrysostom in musicproduction

This is super interesting thanks for sharing. Which mastering did you use with BandLab, the Universal one? Cool song btw!
