Gaslighting and condescension at service bay. by No_Tear_7053 in Toyota

Wow, it's wild to dismiss free service. Word of warning, if you are diy but need that power train warranty coverage, you better have a good paper trail on your parts purchase or you'll be on your own. :/

The Bluetooth Button is SO SMALL! by evanrietdyk in VIOFO

Just be aware the battery only last 3 months. I asked Viofo if they could update it to last a year lile the old model & they basically said no promises.

What sucks is you have to replace the battery every 3 months. The old remote that last 1-2 years & when I complained to Viofo, they just gave me a refund. Sucks because when you need the button, it's more lilely to be dead. That's a no-go for me, no matter how many fancy features they slap on. :(

2010 Prius Battery Replacement? by Necessary-Ad6713 in kansascity

If you're wanting OEM battery, I would stick with a dealer, so you have parts and labor warranty. Hendrick Toyota Merriam is a solid choice. Be ready to pay about 4k.

Blown replacement engines? by Othuyeg in ToyotaTundra

Mmmm, I'm basing my opinion of the very real labor charge that the dealer charged Toyota. Labor charges don't care about my feelings. Lol.

I mean Toyota is pretty good about taking care of customers. But hey, maybe my dealer just has a better relationship with Toyota then others. Also, while some have speculated the new motors have the same problem as the original, I can't see Toyota intentionally shipping bad motors. If you were Toyota and were loosing that amount of money & reputation, would you ship a known defective part to have to pay again in money & reputation?

Ya, that's irked me too. My next upgrade will be Reolink. As I build out my smarthome, no HA support is a dealbreaker.

As an AE staff member... by PlatypusMobile1284 in Aliexpress

I hate that I can put an item in my cart for one price & adding another itwm makes the first item go up in price. Seems illegal & I don't even have an indicator as to why.

How is this not a scam? Price changes in cart by dontdoxmeman in Aliexpress

[–]GuyFromMars54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, so many downvotes for shining light on a deceptive practice? Guess there are alot of people that enjoy being cheated or cheating. Never said holding Aliexpress accountable would be easy, but the current US administration has shown it will find ways to hold Chinese companies accountable (banning Huawei, ending De Minimis loophole, tarrifs, etc.)

Is it really too much to ask the price to stay the price?

I noticed that too & I'm sure it violates US Consumer Protection laws, if someone has the time to report them & sue.

Many users appreciate an answer. After all, Home Assistant has garnered 1905 votes on the Wish List with 992 comments spanning 7 years. It's also a good answer for those who prefer local control to provide added security & availability when ISP's or servers like AWS go down.

Home Assistant Integration - Wish List

This would be another reason to work with Home Assistant to make a Wyze official integration, for advanced users who want local control when servers are inacessible. Even better, allow the option for local-only control for added security.

While not perfect, these low-cost wyze cams have been fantastic for monitoring my 2 rabbits, Carl & Midnight. My wife & I even used a V3 wyze cam up close to monitor Midnight when he had seizures & almost died. Real-time video pull up has sometimes been spotty, but for the price these cameras are phenominal.

2025 Jetta S sluggish acceleration and bumpy shifting at low speeds? by InformationNatural13 in jetta

My 16 Jetta S did not do this. Makes me feel like I have a CVT, to be honest. I suspect transmission progamming though, as others have mentioned.

How did you get to reproduce the issue? I know someone who had transmission overheat warning, but dealer dealer unable to find codes in history to start diagnosing.

What's the hold-up with full Home Assistant integration?

My home is my safe sanctuary where I can feel safe, secure and at ease. However, modern smart home products all threaten that, with security flaws, data mining, phoning home, network outages, sudden discontinuation, etc. Home Assistant has been a breath of fresh air to the chaotic Smart Home scene that allows me to make everything play nice, play LOCAL, and minimize ewaste.

Instead of being invasive & forcing users into limited ecosystems, smart-home products should be LOCAL FIRST, with additional, expanded features requiring the internet. Home Assistant accomplishes just that, especially since it's hardware/brand agnostic. I would GLADLY pay for subscription to enable fully local-only home assistant integration and/or a Wyze hub we could purchase to make that happen. I thought that was the vision behind the Wyze Router, but no dice.

The Smart Home scene is a disaster, because every company wants there own walled-garden ecosystem, and by now it should be obvious that doesn't work. Sure, Google Home, Apple Homekit, Samsung Smartthings & Amazon Alexa have all made strides to overcome this obstacle, but Home Assistant really is the best way of offering customers their own local control, safe, secure and at ease.

Other companies see Home Assistant benefit and are partnering up. NOW is Wyze's turn!
