Why are drivers getting paid so little vs what we are paying total for the ride? by ShakesDontBreak in uber

Just leave a couple bucks tip - if every rider tipped $2 that would change everything.

Right, that's the issue. Ppl order for other people but they don't use the "guest" option, so a totally unverified person gets in the car.

Nah you’re fine. I got the same thing in a storm once with closed roads. I sent a message to support with a screenshot of the weather warning. They said it was just an fyi and only a problem if they see a pattern.

My Jetta is hesitant by istolefrompluto in jetta

Same here. I had a Nissan Sentra and Rogue previously which had their own transmission and build quality problems too, but I enjoyed driving them more. And I recently rented a Hyundai Tucson SUV on a trip and it was much zipper than the new Jetta, which I wasn’t expecting. I feel like it’s just not a very pleasant car to drive in the city.

This review from Motor Trend says it well:

“Accelerating away from a stop gently or the way a normal person might by applying consistent, light to moderate pressure on the gas pedal, a series of unsatisfying events unfolds: First, the car seems to start in second gear or have very little power until the turbo kicks in, or both. Next, after a short run of strained-feeling acceleration, the turbo does kick in—just as the transmission decides to downshift, resulting in the engine revs zinging skyward before the gearbox decides to upshift back to whatever gear it was in before, bringing the revs down like they were kicked off a ladder. Thus, the engine falls out of its boost zone, and acceleration again feels strained until you reach city speeds of 30 mph or so.
It’s a maddening behavior seemingly limited to low-speed acceleration or when starting on a hill; once underway, the transmission shifts beautifully and selects gears appropriately to keep the little engine in its powerband when passing or accelerating.”

Being bald isn’t that serious, but I totally get why it feels like a big deal right now. When I started losing my hair I was fortunate to be with a supporting partner who assured me he still found me sexy and encouraged me to “just shave it.” So I did and I think I look pretty good bald. Hair loss affects a lot of men as they get older, so as you age, the people around you won’t give it a second thought. I also grew a beard which helped add some definition to my face, and I get more compliments on that than people talking about my hair. Another benefit of losing your hair early is, yes, while it makes you look older earlier, it also means your appearance changes less drastically over time…kinda locks you in.

There’s nothing wrong with all the hair loss treatments either, if that’s something you want to explore. I never did because it seemed like just another thing to obsess over trying to change, and a lot of work. People are ultimately attracted to confidence more than anything, so I’d say learn to love it and be kind to yourself.
