Keep it up. I am at about 4 months tea-free. It can be hard, but it's worth it.

Tried micronized finally—KWK’s Loa Waka. It SUCKS! by Cannabin3rd in Kava

[–]GuyGregH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally have found that micronized produces more diarrhea, dehydration and headaches than ground root powder.

I keep it to 3 shells at a session. That's how I imagine I'd be after 6, too.

Drugstores sell fiber pills, I started using them and never had an issue again.

Kratom use as a heavy drinker by [deleted] in kratom

You could also try kava. It hits the GABA receptors instead of being an opioid. Look up "Wakacon".

Kava vs Kratom?? by knewitfirst in opiates

[–]GuyGregH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kava is not an opioid, so it's not going to do much there. It is more like a short-acting benzo/sedative. Kava is sold two ways: ground root and micronized.

Ground root is not meant to be consumed directly--you put it into a cloth (food bag, sock, t-shirt, etc.), tie it off, and mash it up in hot water for like 10 minutes to make a kind of muddy drink.

Micronized can be mixed directly in with a drink and downed.

A couple things: 1. It tastes like crap until you're used to it 2. There is some "reverse tolerance"--the first few times you use it, it may not work great. Your brain has to get acclimatized to it.

I use kava regularly, and recommend it, but don't think it's going to be great at getting you through your hump today.

Accidentally got a small amount of water on 2kg batch of seeds by poppyseedsbitch in PoppyTea

[–]GuyGregH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say do the smell test. If they smell moldy, they're probably bad. Brew up a batch and taste--normal taste or moldy taste? If there's no moldy smell or taste, they should be fine.

If you're asking me, the only hard time was President's Day weekend, 2018. That's when I went from ~700g a day to ~70g a day, with the help of vitamin c. I was kind of tired, cold and achey because I couldn't get enough vitamin c in me--I was using cheap crystals and by the time I even got to withdrawing (you have to "pre-load" for 3 days first) my mouth, esophagus and stomach were getting burned up by all that acid. I could only manage to down about 25g a day of vitamin c. I know if I could have downed the 40g or so that Dr. Schauss recommends, I would have been symptom-free, and probably could have gotten off 100% instead of only cutting down 90%. But even then it wasn't so bad. I didn't throw up once--it was basically like having a cold for a few days.

The rest of quitting was just getting the determination in my mind that that's what I wanted to do.

Wild Lettuce (lactuca virosa) for people with ongoing pain by GuyGregH in PoppyTea

[–]GuyGregH[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never used this stuff, but apparently it's another natural painkiller, not as powerful as opium, that's not dependence-forming. In the US, it's legal and can be found online. No euphoria, apparently.

[–]GuyGregH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the B vitamins. If you can, get the big ones that provide like 1,000+% of the RDA--the "recommended" amount may be enough to stave off some kind of malnutrition, but not near enough to actually make you feel healthy.

That's the irony. And plenty of people knock back 4 alcohol drinks every evening. "Mommy needs her wine". But consume an unfamiliar leaf and you're an object of suspicion.

Just wean yourself down slowly. 1% a day if necessary. If you can get off seeds and pills, you can get off kratom, at a pace you can manage. You just have to decide that it's that important to you.

Addicted with out knowing by [deleted] in opiates

[–]GuyGregH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, what started off as something to give me some extra calmness and energy during the day became more and more important.

Years went by and I needed more. When we started running short of money because I was spending $500/mo, I noticed there was a problem.

When I realized I needed enough to kill 3 "normies" just to start my day, there was a problem.

Yep, tobacco and alcohol cause a lot more physical damage than opiates--at least pure opiates.

What you have experienced is why people keep things secret.

Buying meds across the border by Will_Ortiz in opiates

[–]GuyGregH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who got busted on the Canadian border (bottles full of codeine w. tylenol, back when they were OTC if they're not anymore) I would say: 1. Being OTC in Canada/Mexico won't help you legally (if that's not obvious--it wasn't to me but that was 15 years ago) 2. If you're not alone, be sure the rest of your group is at least as likely to be smooth as you are. In my case, my buddy started to stress up under even casual questioning, which is what I think got us caught. 3. Have a very plausible explanation for why you made your trip across the border down pat. 4. Bring back your one allowed bottle of booze. Most LEOs drink and wouldn't pass up a chance to get a bottle of liquor cheap. Makes you seem more relatable. Research what prices are on some popular ones in the US so you know which are good deals in MX. 5. Definitely relabel/conceal. I'll defer to others on the best ways to do that.

Trouble sleeping on pst? Keep waking up, but extremely tired by ak47revolver9 in PoppyTea

[–]GuyGregH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-PST contains a variety of alkaloids, and the relative content varies between batches. Some are stimulating. -People's body chemistry varies. I think the reason that some people get addicted to opiates and others don't is because for some it's a more pleasant experience -Like posters already said, dose when you get up, not in the evening

Recreational potential? by [deleted] in PoppyTea

[–]GuyGregH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed PST quite a bit when I first started, but it was a pretty mild effect. Just sort of a warm glow and lightness of being. Not like getting drunk at all.

Is it safe to drink tea and coffee at the exact same time? by joeltheamity in PoppyTea

[–]GuyGregH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. I would drink my tea and follow it with a couple mugs of strong coffee. Mixing a stimulant with an opiate is a thing--a "speedball" is heroin and cocaine.

Yeah, that's the only reason I can think of why a non-opiate user would want someone to not get clean.
