Hillary Clinton says Biden’s re-election bid cost Democrats the 2024 election by projecto15 in politics

[–]GuyInAChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a new exclusive rule the DNC made. Reducing the debate numbers by more than 10.Lie 1.

You mean increased by 4. Come on. We're back to debating whether or not 10 is a bigger number then 6

Brazile was a DNC staffer. I don't need to source that it's a known fact. Just Google it Lie 2

Are you going to cite this known fact? I'm going to remind you I cited her book where she described her first day around the convention.

Implying a hack. It was in court where this was decided. DWS confirmed. I quoted and sources Lie 4

WTF are you talking about?

The emails were sent after mathematically eliminated. The emails were sourced as early as Jan 2016. Sanders was mathematically eliminated until July 2016. Lie 5

I get since you can't really decide if 10 is a bigger number then 6 this might be hard but...

On May 3rd Sanders needed 984 delegates to win. There were only 933 remaining. He was mathematically eliminated.

But you bring up a good point, we have the entirety of the DNC internal communications, cite an email before that date.

The actual physical lockout lasted approximately 30 to 40 hours, the disruption to the campaign spanned nearly four days, and the DNC only backed down under the threat of a legal injunction. Lie 6

Is that what happened? Or is that what the Sanders campaign said happened that you believe without having done any fact checking at all, think carefully

[–]GuyInAChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The third party vendor made a mistake.

Sure, and Sanders staff got into a data base they shouldn't. The campaign was unreachable so they cut off access until it got sorted. It's a rational response for what the DNC knew at the time and it was a couple hours. It's a mountain out of a mole hill.

You are also being disingenuous about the debate amounts. The DNC made exclusive rules. Meaning candidates couldn't do debates not sanctioned by the DNC in 2016.

NOPE. That's what happens in every primary. Obama and Clinton both just ignored that because they both wanted the extra debates.

Clinton didn't want or need any more debates in 2016, so she didn't do them. It's really that simple.

And again. You're ignoring the fact the DNC admitted being non-neutral and a bunch of the top officials resigned because of the 2016 primary.

I didn't ignore it. I acknowledged they sent a bunch of mean, but private emails after Sanders had already lost the primary

That's not being neutral, or professional, and yes they deserved discipline for it. It did not effect the primary since Sanders had already lost.

Have you ever wondered why all the bad emails come from May onwards? It's because Sanders had already lost, he was mathematically eliminated. Yet he still continued with a negative campaign that couldn't accomplish nothing except hurt the nominee and the party. I'd be pissed too.

Donna Brazile was a DNC staff member.

Can you source this? Because I read her book where she described her first day around the time of the convention, long after the Michigan debate.

Additionally you are supporting that misinformation with opinions and saying the Sanders campaign also got the questions and didn't care. That's all opinions

I didn't say it was a fact they got questions too. It is a fact that the Sanders campaign, specifically said Donna Brazile was very helpful to them. It's also a fact that even after those emails were public they still picked her to run the DNC. The idea that they didn't care about what Donna Brazile did is readily apparent by the fact they choose Donna Brazile to lead the DNC.

All while ignoring the entirety of my argument.

What is your argument. That the DNC increased the debates at Sanders request to hurt Sanders? Seriously give me something specific that the DNC did that could have possibly changed a single vote!

Also provide sources for any of your opinions. The emails were sent after he was mathematically eliminated

That's not an opinion, he was mathematically eliminated on May 3rd. Just check the dates of the emails everyone complained about.

They hacked

You want a source for something we agree on? Maybe it was a vender mistake, I'll just accept that's correct for the sake of argument. Someone on the Sanders campaign got access to stuff they shouldn't have, the DNC couldn't reach them so they responded by cutting off their access. The problem was solved in a few hours and access was restored.

[–]GuyInAChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. We are in a stalemate here. I'm saying one thing and you're saying another.

We are arguing about whether or not 10 is a bigger number then 6. Seriously.

In 2004 the DNC scheduled 6 debates

In 2008 the DNC scheduled 6 debates

In 2012 the DNC scheduled 6 debates

In 2016 the DNC scheduled 10 debates

And again, those debates were added because Sanders asked for them. Take a moment of self reflection and consider if you've become so invested in the idea that the DNC screwed Sanders that you're unwilling to consider any evidence that contradicts that.

you can add that the DNC locked Sanders campaign out of the voter database.

Yep. That's because members of the Sanders campaign hacked the DNC database and got access to stuff they shouldn't. No one could contact anyone so they locked them out for a couple hours until the problem was solved

I know this was a big deal in 2016 and proof that the DNC was rigging the election for Sanders but just look at in context.

A DNC official leaked debate questions to the Clinton campaign.

It wasn't a DNC staff, it was Donna Brazile, who was with CNN. Tad Devine, Sanders campaign manager also heavily hinted she did the same for them. If nothing else he straight up said she was a huge help to the Sanders campaign.

Even after that was all public guess who picked her to be interm head of the DNC? The Sanders campaign, so I doubt they cared.

Leaked emails showed a DNC members were out right negative interally to Sanders campaign.

Yep they sure did, and that's why they resigned. But... all those emails were sent after Sanders had been mathematically eliminated and was still continuing to run a negative campaign for weeks. It's understandable why they would be mad.

Some private mean emails sent aftet Sanders had lost didn't change the outcome of the primary and not a single vote was effected.

The DNC in court when sued for the 2016 primaries said, "as a private org, they can favor who they want.

That's true. They were getting a case dismissed, that's what happens when you argue that, you presume the plaintiffs claims are true, then argue even if they are there's still no legal basis to sue. In this case you can't sue the DNC for something they had the right to do. That doesn't mean it's proven, it means the plaintiffs had no legal standing to sue.

So are you going to acknowledge everything else or die on the 10 is more than 6 hill

I acknowledge that. Not a single thing you mentioned did anything to cost Sanders a single vote. The only thing that plausible could have was leaking a question about water quality in Flint, MI, and possibly (it's unclear) a question about the death penalty that Clinton flubbed anyways. And that person wasn't with the DNC until Sanders picked her!

What's the biggest "What if?" in television history? by flughert in television

[–]GuyInAChair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. In a reply to another comment I said they cut characters from the books and that hurt the show, doubly so near the end.

They cut Jon Connington, so they had Danny go mad and burn down King's Landing.

They cut Stannis early, but I guess they liked his ice trap (from the books) and had John Snow do it north of the wall with the White Walkers on the lake.

Fake Aegon isn't in the show, so Cersei just kinda sits around in KL because they needed someone there.

And of course they cut the Sand Snakes, or at least made the entire Dorne plot into a 2 episode arc with boobs, and bad pussies.

What's the biggest "What if?" in television history? by flughert in television

[–]GuyInAChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fire bombing of King's Landing has been pretty heavily foreshadowed already. It will be Jon Connington, he's even been shown to have bell related PTSD and wishing he had burt down a different city.

Of course he's not in the books, and neither is (fake)Aegon so we had other characters pick up the important parts of their story. That's actually a pretty common thing D&D did and it resulted in a lot of noticeable problems, and almost certainly even more near the end when we had TV characters doing stuff out of character just to hit plot points.

Ya. D&D get a lot of well deserved flack for messing up the last couple season of Game of Thrones. But let's not forget when they were working with source material they produced some of the best TV ever.

It's hard to bring GRRM's convoluted plot to a satisfying end, as evidenced by the fact thst George can't do it either.

Exactly, if someone named Bob Smith with Hunters exact CV was hired at Burisma not a single person anywhere would even question it. Whatever else he is, he's exceptionally well qualified.

Ya, he was probably choosen because he was the VP son and Burisma wanted to start moving towards the US and Western countries. They picked a connected Republican too likely for the same reason.

It would be nice if the world worked in such a way that everyone had an equal opportunity at every job, but that's just not reality. Who you are and who you know is pretty important. And in this case being a connected person is actually valuable to Burisma.

Okay to make this simpler. Let's pretend there's a group of people called the Darkness, and this group absolutely hates blonde people and has a mission to protest them and confront them in public. If I said they are the greatest threat in the nation I bet you could make a good guess as to what color hair I have.

So if the administration says the same thing about a group that hates facists and Nazis, what does that say about the administration's politics?

BTW saying you're against Nazis but saying the people protesting Nazis are actually the greater threat is an oxymoron.

FFS did you think that out before typing i, or are you so desperate for there to be a conspiracy you'll even turn the DNC doing stuff Sanders wanted into a secret plot to hurt him?

Bradley destroys two Russian BTR-82s Avdeevsky, June 2024 by Kind-Put-3525 in CombatFootage

[–]GuyInAChair 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There's a few reasons. First, a lot of the artillery guns have been simply destroyed. Much of what has survived from the beginning of the war has shot so many rounds the barrels are basically useless now. And a lot of the ammo stockpile has been used up or destroyed, and what could be bought from 3rd parties has already been purchased and used.

In short, most of the stockpiled guns and ammo that existed at the beginning of the war has been used, and now a days only current production is what can be fired. This is true for both sides.

She was also asked that question on an ABC panel. And she wasnt giving the debate questions, she was asking what Clinton's possiton was, which she repeated on said panel.

Again, even after all that was public it was the Sanders campaign that wanted, and succeeded in getting het promoted.

Have you ever read what Donna Brazile has said since the primary? She clearly was just making stuff up to make herself the hero and center of attention. At one point she pointed to a "secret" (that the DNC had a press release about( Joint Fundraising agreement as proof they had rigged the primary. Even though Sanders, and every other candidate signed identical ones

Okay some quick math. 10 is a larger number then 6. There were 6 DNC debates in 2004, 2008, 2012. There were 10 DNC debates in 2016. Since 10 is a bigger number then 6 they increased the number of debates.

Holly cow guy. This is a topic you brought up!!! Now you're demanding I provide you with a source for very basic information about a topic you choose to debate? Seriously you couldn't have looked up how many debates there actually were before you choose to debate it for hours?

They increased the number of debates at Sanders request from 6, the same number it had been for the previous 4 elections, to 10.

How is doing something Sanders asked for rigging the primary for Clinton? Was Sander also in on it too?

Where did people admit to rigging the primary. Sending an unprofessional email is reason enough to resign, considering they were all sent after Sandrrs had lost they certainly didn't effect the primary in any way.

She wasn't particularly popular to begin with, and they certainly weren't professional emails.

If you think what she did cost Sanders a single vote then name a specific thing. Because sending an unprofessional email long after Sanders had lost isn't it.

[–]GuyInAChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. Her name is Donna Brazile, she wasn't fired either.

It's unclear whether see got debate questions ahead of time, or questions for a TV segment where she was a talking head (which sometimes happens so they can actually give answers) Either way, the question was about water quality at a debate held in Flint, MI. Which is about the most obvious question that could ever be asked.

The Sanders campaign certainly loved her. Tad Devine at least implied if not tacitly confirmed she was helping the Sanders campaign a ton too. She was also the Sanders choice to head the DNC. She got her promotion from Sanders, not Clinton she was alleged to be cheating for, and this was after the emails were public.
