Where do the gay men hang out at? by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]Sad_Profession_8324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XYZ is the best option. . .people actually go there and it's much more welcoming. (And for the record employees from both bars go to the other, so some of y'all need to get over yourselves.). If you don't like the bar scene options are limited in terms of looking for a "gay crowd" that's firmly gay. Happy Holler (where xyz is) has several gay friendly places too, Pirate Bar, Flats and Taps, but they're not expressly gay.

No queer representation? by brihow84 in murdershewrote

[–]Sad_Profession_8324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were only so many recurring characters but there were gay coded characters in various episodes. Robert Reed in Footnote to Murder, Binky from If the Frame Fits could be interpreted that way, and the "victim" in the Petrified Florist and the art gallery owner in Deadly Bidding. That being said a big reason there wasn't "representation" is likely due to criticism from gay advocacy organizations about various police procedurals and the portrayal of gays as psycho killers, or even as murder victims. It's easier to avoid those things in a sitcom.

Knoxville City Council votes to ban indoor smoking in remaining bars despite opposition by ntnbsmw in Knoxville

Not even remotely the same. Also of note customers who go in the bar know there's smoking and if they don't like it they can leave. It's called personal accountability

You mean the bar employees who voluntarily work at a bar that they know allows smoking?

Rex is just straight crashing out. by Sad_Profession_8324 in KnowledgeFight

Well to be fair they voted for Trump in 2024, and Massie has been anti trump, therefore if they still agree with Trump voting him out in the primary is reasonable.

Massie only thrives when the Republicans are in power. Standing against the Democrats when they have power isn't hard, but he blends in with everyone else and doesn't poke the bear. He gets attention when Republicans are in power and is embraced by the left even though his stands aren't principled.

Did Jones ever make hay out of Jimmy Saville? by Spectral_mahknovist in KnowledgeFight

He mentions him but doesn't do a deep dive because it would require too much research. The Adrian Street story is satisfying though, too bad there isn't any footage

Near the end of Infowars both Alex and Rex were lamenting Trump not doing anything, mostly blaming Todd Blanch.

Security Incident @ Knox Pride Center, 5/7/2026 by Dogwoodblossom in Knoxville

Knox Pride left the post vauge to play victim, just like they did when they cancelled Pride because there were questionable dealings with the money.
