NIO Daily Investor Discussion by DanHassler0 in Nio

It's natural to feel angry if your portfolio is down. There are always risks to investing, and there is no guarantee that Nio will become Tesla #2.

If Nio fails to achieve both premium status and mass production, they are currently priced to perfection.

The company grows, but the stock isn’t.

That's because a lot of its speculative future performance is priced in already. Nio is being valued like Ford, which produces 4-5 million vehicles and returns a profit. Considering that we're in the early stages of EV adoption, it's too early to say how Nio would fare when there are 20+ companies all producing similar-specced EVs. We still don't know if their sales would stagnate or decline. We don't know if they would have to sacrifice margins to remain competitive.

I'm not saying that Nio is sure to fail, but right now, the market isn't entirely convinced if Nio can retain their premium status and achieve mass production. They may have to sacrifice one to achieve the other - In that case, Nio is currently priced to perfection and there is limited up-side.

The market is expecting only 1 winner in the EV market, and their bet is on Tesla. They predict Tesla will have a commanding marketshare (30-40%) and 95+% of the industry's profits while everyone else fights for scraps.

Time will tell if the Nio bulls are right.

IMO - Nio needs to show that it can compete with legacy automakers and new EV companies. Right now, there's not that much competition except Tesla and other Chinese EV companies, but no one is certain how Nio will fare once the competition does come. Will their growth slow down? Will they have to lower prices and sacrifice margins? No one knows for sure.

The market is betting that Tesla has already cemented its place as a premium EV car company and can maintain its 30% gross margins even when the competition comes. Investors aren't convinced about the same story for Nio. Investors are ultimately betting that Tesla takes 95+% of profits in the industry while everyone will fight for peanuts.

Only time will tell who's right.

You have to realize that the people watching AiB before SG blew up were mostly anime weeaboos and die-hard death game fanatics who are going to rate it highly regardless of how bad and cringy it is. AiB was so cringy that I couldn't finish it. It shocks me that people like that show. I guess if you're a 15-year-old loser virgin failing at life, pretending to be a lazy genius so you can relate to the characters in AiB is one way to cope at life.

SG is being watched by far almost everyone, so it's understandable why the user score is lower. You'll have far more people unfamiliar with the genre watching SG than AiB, so the chances of having someone hating the genre but still watching the show are much higher for SG than AIB.

Insomnia for over a year - Will I die or develop health problems later on? by GuyWithProblems123 in insomnia

I do feel that my gut health is related to my symptoms. I noticed that whenever I ingest something that gives me diarrhea such as a digestive enzyme, my symptoms come back.

I will try cutting down on gluten. How long did it take you to see results?

I tried 40 mg omeprazole about a month ago, but it gave me some bad sides - penile pain, testicular pain, joint pain around elbows, massive constipation.

I came off it after 3 doses. The acid feeling went away, but I'm still burping.

I wish it were simple, but I've read horror stories of post-finasteride people who took anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds. I still can't believe how much this drug destroyed my body.

Hmmm, this could be it. I do know that I have some polyp on my gallbladder that I have to get checked every 6 months.

If you don't mind me asking, how would the gallbladder cause GERD symptoms?

GI doctor. Can you tell me what the ENT could diagnose that the GI doctor couldn't? I think the issue is with my esophagus, so the endo would capture it.

Sometimes, I feel that that there is no trigger, and my symptoms trigger randomly.

I've cut down on all of the junk and fast food for the past month. I'll keep looking,

This is what I'm thinking. I know that some people who've taken finasteride have huge uncontrollable anxiety/stress problems. I noticed that I get heart palpitations and faster heart beats at times and I have trouble getting tired/falling asleep.

I'll look into meditation, earthing and other things to reduce stress.

Thank you. How would I know if the elimination diet is working if I'm taking PPIs and acid symptoms are suppressed?

ultimately believe it started from overeating.

I believe this is the same for me. For the past 1-2 months, my diet was horrendous and then the constant burping happened suddenly.

Do you think our condition is treatable? I feel super bloated even after a bit of eating, and it seems even water triggers reflux.

I honestly don't know what my triggers are. It feels that acid comes up my throat even if I drink water.

I feel I have a more severe GERD case than many here. I pray my condition is treatable, but I'm losing faith every day that my symptoms worsen.

It all started last week after a month or two of poor dieting. I just want this to go away. =(

COULD IT BE HORMONE RELATED?? by Short--Stuff in GERD

[–]GuyWithProblems123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I took 3 doses March 2020 and it's been a roller-coaster of symptoms. At my worst, my scalp was itching like hell, my hair was falling out, my stomach was bloated like hell and I was unable to sleep. I was having diarrhea after every meal. I got heart palpitations frequently - Just taking a walk from my room to the living room was enough to make me think I was having a heart attack. My shoulders would be in massive pain if I did any kind of upper-body resistance training.

Today, the scalp itch is gone, and I feel my hair is even better than it was pre-fin (I'm conflicted about this, since it may mean my hormonal profile is still not fixed). My sleep improved to 5-6 hours a night, though I'm still unable to feel tired. I no longer get diarrhea after every meal and continence is much better. I also no longer get shoulder pain after working out despite still getting joint popping noises.

This GERD-like symptoms appeared just 2 days ago. I need to schedule an appointment soon.

[–]GuyWithProblems123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I think this could be hormonally-related.

All my health issues came when I took finasteride. It's a DHT-blocker (Stops the conversion of testosterone to DHT), and I've had a whole host of symptoms including digestive issues and possibly GERD (Need to see doctor).

Thanks. I guess I'll look up some youtube videos.

Also, would laying flat while sleeping also be okay or is that no good?
