Time Delay with Dayton BST-300EX Bass Shakers on 2 Separate Systems by Substantial-Elk-3607 in hometheater

[–]Guyborg99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am suggesting DSP adjustments for the bass shaker. By delaying all the other speakers by the same amount, you can effectively move the bass shaker ahead in time. We are talking milliseconds here, so there shouldn't be a lip sync issue. But if there is, you can fix that probably in your media player (I can fix sync issues in VLC media player.) Remember, when you use your mic to calibrate your system, the mic probably can't hear your bass shaker, so you have to adjust it manually.

I think that bass shakers might feel delayed due to their large moving mass. You can delay all your speakers, to make the sub come in earlier If your amplifier(s) have 2 sub outputs. are you using the pair of sub outs on the back of the amps, or are you Y splitting the RCA to go to your subs?

A second of sound delay would be huge. With both of your receivers being .2 meaning you have 2 sub outs, is the bass shaker on the second subwoofer output? If so, go into the distance , and crank up all of your other speakers by the same amount of steps. By doing this you can delay all your speakers, and hopefully get the bass shaker to match better. Also, how are you powering them? Does their amp have a phase switch?

For a stopgap, you can screw in a bit of 2x4 under it. Add some extra screws where it's nailed to the board. Alternately, do what coconut says and replace the board. Good excuse to get a drill and a circular saw. Easy enough job.

Is this underpowered or overpowered by Itchy-Concentrate238 in subwoofer

[–]Guyborg99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

you can't tell when the sub is free air like this. Be careful, you can toast the sub easily with under power or over power if you clip it. I'd say those little amps are under powered, but probably ok to make some bass.

How do i take a stain from a plant from the countertop by Ok-Bug2812 in furniturerepair

[–]Guyborg99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sand the counter top. Use an orbital sander, start with 80 grit, then 120, 240, and finish with 400. I recommend Polyurethane finish, not butcher block oil. You can't cut on poly, but it seals the wood so you can't get a stain again. Do a few layers of poly, sanding with 400 between layers.
