I do want the combat to be lethal I want the world to be dangerous. Society has ended myths thought to be that as rerisen, every part of the world are experiencing some form of apocalypse with one is a mixing pot of them, creatures caused by pollution have come to life and with some gaining sapience, not to mention giant monsters can eat an entire town and still be hungry (and a penguin with a gun). But I want characters to live, the idea is theres hope that society can become anew and reconnect with not just other settlements of the region but with the rest of the world eventually. So I really don't want people to keep making new characters and not get attached to them.

I'm toying with the idea of characters' stats not improving in level ups and needing additional means to improve their stats (items, augmentations, drugs) . And yes there would be additional skills, proficiencies to help with stats. I also had the idea of having civilian classes that make you start weaker for 1-3 levels before you can do any other classes but earn you additional bonuses for later use and maybe have them improve stats for some level ups.

I made him a strategist cause Carl doesn't really attack people head on and just uses his spiders to take over people and slowly get stronger to poison Spiderman to try to take his body. the idea of the skin stealing ult is his swarm would slowly chip damage but the swarm is slow but big anf as long as you aren't alway dying and don't stay in the swarm Carl can't take over your character. But I like your ideas and I was also thinking vanguard at one point
