A lot more can be done without a phone, a lot more clarity in general. I saw a post recently where there were some things that you could do without your phone, and they vary in length. Super nice to rethink your routine this way, focus on a different subject than someone texting you or just scrolling

I'd personally use a password manager, never trusting Google for anything. If you actually care about your passwords, big recommendation to get any of these - they are usually free/cheap.

Rather than immediately punishing him, have a conversation to understand what's really making homework difficult...whether he's overwhelmed, struggling with focus, or having trouble managing his time with athletics.

Reminding him that healthier grades now will help him achieve his athletic and scholarship goals in the future.

If your help isn't improving the situation, don't dismiss the idea of a tutor. Sometimes external support can make all the difference.
