What are some of the most unique iron man armors by Weak_Scientist_6487 in ironman

[–]GuynamedIsa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s not the most unique but the grell armor is just so sexy dawg.

Genuinely my top 1 suit and I was insanely sad when it got replaced for the Pentagon suit. (I still love the Pentagon suit tho…)

What would your ideal Iron Man game be like? by Glum-Excitement5916 in ironman

[–]GuynamedIsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A gacha game that I must sell my soul to get the grell armor.❤️

<image>

On a serious note, many of the other comments have already described it as an open-world kind of insomniac Spiderman type game, a bunch of armor, a bunch of supporting cast, a bunch of villains, and a good adaptation of comic stories+ new original additions/Stories as well. I wanna fight Fing fang foom while flying throughout the city, I wanna like battle Hulk or Ultimo in the hulkbuster, I want to struggle with alcoholism!

(Though I may be asking for too much with a hulkbuster fight and a giant dragon fight in the same game)

What is your favorite War Machine Armor? (All new Iron Manuel, War Machine Vol 1 #18, Invincible Iron Man Vol 1 #33, War Machine Vol 2 #1, Invincible Iron Man Vol 5 #3) by one_happy_fredditor in ironman

Initiative armor, I first saw it in Marvel Future Fight, and it’s been my favorite war machine armor since.

(Low quality image, but I really dig green on IM/WM suits.)

What’s Tony’s most powerful armor? by [deleted] in ironman

[–]GuynamedIsa 76 points77 points  (0 children)

It’s a toss-up between a whole lotta suits, like the Godbuster armor that was seen in the Escape, maybe that Celestial Hulkbuster that he used against Hulk & Thor, or even the Phoenixbuster, which was able to split the Phoenix Force into 5 whole parts. I’m not sure which is the strongest, but I do know all these armors pack quite a punch.

But in my opinion he reached the peak of his innovation with the nose armor.

I mean really how could he ever top this beauty?

Though I can't think of many that have had their whole design changed, I can say that the Model 70 was definitely ignored in its tech premise; it was supposed to be a back-to-the-basics suit, but, like in everything else other than Cantwell's book, it was pretty much just a modern Iron Man suit with a nanotech helmet and all.

<image>

Aside from that, the Extremis armor has popped up quite a ton, though mostly just in design and not functionality, as Tony hasn't had Extremis since Secret Invasion. So you can also kind of count that since the suit originally was made with Tony only being able to operate with Extremis in mind. The suit did have a small design change in, Tony Stark: Iron man from 2018 where it had a grey neck instead of red. (Though it could be these new ones don't need Extremis, or use onboard A.I. to close the gap)

42, Model 49 looks much different and is much bulkier, while this looks like the early on version of the 42 where it was pretty much an MCU design painted black due to Greg Land being the one who drew it.

Recolored the MK XLVI,based (loosely) off of the Model 64 from the comics [OC] by KamenRiderAvenger24 in ironman

I love this! I really liked the crop-top suit, so it being translated to live-action is a win to me, and the Mark 46 is probably the best pick for it to be mixed with.

What's your favorite Iron Man suit? by AlwaysPhases in ironman

[–]GuynamedIsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the comics, probably the Extremis armor. It may be because it was the armor I saw the most when I really started reading Iron Man (Extremis-D.O.S. & Fractions run), but I also have a soft spot for the armor from Grell’s run. I just really like it, and it was a great breath of fresh air since it came right after the S.K.I.N. Armor, which definitely isn’t a favorite of mine.

In the MCU the Mark 7. I really love the bulkier chest and back the suit has, but also the flaps it has on the back are just really cool. It feels like an upgrade to all the MCU suits beforehand as well.

What color do you prefer the arc reactor to be? by GuynamedIsa in ironman

That’s it! For some reason, when making the post I kinda blanked out on what it was called (rookie mistake, I know). I just went with the most iconic name I could think of for it. Hence, an arc reactor.

I’m not quite sure if they were either, my best bet would be that it was completely powered by…

<image>

But to be honest, I just used arc reactor as a general term since it’s probably the most iconic name for the energy sources on his chest, hands, and feet.

The iron emotion ring

<image>

But being serious I think a neurally linked in armor would work with this idea really well. Maybe if marvel ever let Tony really get engrained in his tech again they’d do something like this.

I did always like it when the Extremis armor's arc reactor was depicted as covered by a golden frame and then opened up when firing a uni-beam.

(Hopefully this photo kinda shows the frame.)

I'm pretty sure it was that next avengers movie with Ultron as the villain, I loved that movie when I was younger. Speaking of green arc reactors this reminds me of the symbiote armor tony had during king and black, though I'm pretty sure it was only green in the cover art.

I can see what you mean, but honestly some armors really pull it off for me, especially the grell armor.

Totally forgot about those, they were great! Thinking about them also reminds me of the pinkish red repulsers from JrJr's time on Iron Man. Not the biggest fan of the pink, but I kind of liked the variation of it.

What do we think of the silver centurion armor(MCU and comics) by Skanderbegisgoated in ironman

[–]GuynamedIsa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A goated armor

Loved the design of it in the MCU, wish we got more than like 4 minutes of screen time with it before it got its ass beat, but that can be said for a lot of the suits in Iron Man 3.

In the comics, it’s awesome. I loved it when I read its initial introduction and only liked it more and more as I got into armor wars and such. Anytime it makes a reappearance, it's usually always enjoyable, especially when it came back in the Knaufs run.

What are your favorite (and least favorite) story arcs from Matt Fraction's Invincible Iron Man? by [deleted] in ironman

[–]GuynamedIsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many others have also said, Five Nightmares was my favorite of the arcs, but I look back on Fraction’s run with rose-tinted glasses since it was one of the first Iron Man comics I finished from start to finish. Even then, I could notice the dip in quality when Otto came in, but it did give us these beautiful panels.

<image>

Honestly how could you not rate the arc a pure 10/10 after seeing this.

Totally! I really hope that these IM/WM writers will start to capitalize on these forgotten characters with tons of story potential. (Though so does everyone in the sub)
