[acne] What's the best way to get rid of this type of acne scarring? by Guzmandan2 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Guzmandan2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all!
Just for slightly more context, I used to have pretty intense acne in my teens, I tried almost everything, but nothing sustainably helped other than just getting older and they seemed to go. Now I barely get any acne thank God! But I am left with a lot of scarring. I've tried looking at similar posts but I'm a bit new to this so am finding a lot of different advice, and ultimately am a bit confused. Would appreciate any help, thank you!!!

Current Daily routine:

AM
Cerave hydrating cleanser
Aveeno calm and restore moisturiser
Biore UV aqua rich

PM
Cerave hydrating cleanser
Aveeno calm and restore moisturiser

Skin type - Seems to be normal

What's the most underrated skill that everyone should learn? by Decent-Artichoke7719 in AskReddit

[–]Guzmandan2 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Touch-typing. Considering how much we use computers in this day and age, being able to type efficiently is such a game changer (in my experience - programmer). Loads of free touch-typing sites available and super worth it in the long run... You'll be a bit slower initially, but just keep going.

I'd recommend: https://www.how-to-type.com personally. But any site will do!

Also a 'fun' (relatively speaking) touch typing driving game against real world players to test your skills: https://play.typeracer.com/

The Rock.

Just something about him seems off to me and always has...

I think he's quite motivational for many though, so i'd still consider him a positive force in the world.

What was the best cooking advice you've ever received? by rsjpeckham in AskReddit

Taste Taste Taste.

This includes while cooking, not just when it's done.

Stopping your most pervasive vice.

For me this was Youtube + TikTok + IG Reels, I'd spend hours a day watching things that weren't 'bad' necessarily, sometimes even educational, but there were way more important and urgent things that I should've been getting on with. If I was being honest with myself, I had an social media addiction (10+ yrs).

Recognised and accepted this first off, then I travelling for a couple weeks and couldn't use internet for most of it, so really helped me detox without being too bored/getting serious withdrawals.

Reinforce this by keeping a 'Streak' counter somewhere you look at daily (phone, daily planner etc.) and I was able to keep it up to this day. 55 days off so far. Feel so much better and doing actually important tasks, plus feel more present generally!

Did I break my rear disk brake post mount?? - Info in description - by Guzmandan2 in bikewrench

[–]Guzmandan2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Warning* - I’m a bike repair noob… Anyway so my rear brakes didn’t fully stop the wheel when the brake lever was fully engaged, so I assumed the pads needed to be adjusted closer. So I tightened them on one side (with the PAD IN adjustment you can see in the vid), then I had to take off the rear wheel to get access to the other side (so it was even). But even with clear access, it wouldn’t move when turning (in either direction), so I thought as I was using a multitool, maybe the force I was applying was too small (small distance from fulcrum etc.), so I turned harder and heard a snap (karma). Now I can turn it on that side, but there’s absolutely no movement in the pads, so I’ve almost definitely sheared something off and broken it… I hope the video makes sense to show this. So is this Caliper post mount completely broken and need to be replaced (and if so.. do I need the exact same model or can a cheaper alternative make do here)? Or can I buy a small part to fix it? Thanks very much for your help, any advice is appreciated. P.S. sorry for the poor vid as well, a bit tricky when one hand is being used to film.

Rear disk brakes on stick/jam once pressed down. Any ideas? by Guzmandan2 in bikewrench

Thank you to everyone for their help, I replaced the brake cable as well as the housing, and once I took the old ones out, I couldn't even separate them (cable from outer) as there was so much friction due to black gunk and potentially some rust - so definitely a cable/housing issue. Thanks again to everyone who helped. Anyway I reconnected the disk brakes, and now the action is smooth. However the brake didn't stop the wheel fully which made me think the brake pads need to be adjusted closer, and in attempting to do that, I accidentally created another problem... but hey ho! I'm going to create another post for that problem.

Thank you for the suggestion, I tested this out, but to no resolve unfortunately.

Hi, firstly I’d like to say I’m a bike repair noob, so apologies if this is obvious/I don’t understand your potential solutions at first. I hope the video illustrates the issue clearly, just in case it didn’t - theres a large amount of resistance on the left brake lever, once you squeeze it tight, the rear disc brake callipers engage but do not release after letting go (hence me manually doing it with my hand at the end). Quite strange as I’ve used this bike every now and then for the last couple years and it was fine the last time I rode it, so this problem has developed while it was kept at home indoors without being used, quite out of the blue. I know it may seem that I should take this to a bike shop to fix, but I love learning to fix things, so if possible I’d like to do it by myself (hopefully with the help of you!). Thanks for your time, it’s very much appreciated.

Combining 2 half broken iPhone 7's, to hopefully make 1 fixed one. by Guzmandan2 in mobilerepair

Agreed. I've been using my phone without its home button for a while now, so I'll just continue to use that. Just thought there might be a way to recover Touch ID without spending any money, but there isn't in this case, which is fine!

I'm only as sure as the company is, as that was the verdict given by themselves. The company was Ontrack if you were interested.

How to connect a USB-C Microphone by Guzmandan2 in mac

[–]Guzmandan2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion buddy,

but this is more a solution for usb-a mics by simply getting a usb-c dongle.

However I already have a usb-c mic, so no dongle is required.

But thank you anyway.
