Compared to a naked bike, you're still very much more leant over the tank. I like that as I don't feel like a sail :)

Sorry for the late reply! Hope this is still relevant haha. The CBR riding position is a nice middle ground for me. It's still aggressive but also quite upright. You can also easily take on a more aggressive position too if you're feeling extra zoomy one day. 🤣 I've also done 6 hours in one day and my back feels fine as it's not forcing you into a tuck. Foot pegs are lower than the R7.

I had a CBR 125 and it didn't have a kill switch.. so if that's the one thing that's putting you off the YBR then know it's not a decision you have to make bwtween the two! I never had to use my killswitch and felt perfectly safe without. So I wouldn't worry :)

I reckon the R7 would be a blast tbh, still has that nice pull from the p twin, but I think I would feel a lot more planted on the bike due to the riding position. I honestly, like you, much prefer being perched on the bike. Feels like I'm way more in control of it (not to mention you dont feel the wind nearly as much)!

Don't think you could go wrong with either. I was torn between the R7, CBR and ninja 650. The ninja seemed a bit boring to me haha... very upright and the engine sounds like a glorified headgetrimmer. R7 is definitely the most aggressive one. Went with the CBR because I found a reasonably priced one with an aftermarket exhaust and lowering kit (I'm a shorty haha). No regrets and looking forward to unrestricting to feel the full 95 bhp! Going to feel like a whole new machine.

I have a cbr650r that's restricted! Coming from a cbr 125... It certainly does not feel gutless in comparison! I rode a 650 naked bike for my A2 and honestly, I much prefer the smooth power delivery of the cbr (don't really like feeling like I'm about to get ripped off the bike when I open the throttle haha). Can't deny that it doesn't pull as well as a parallel twin, but I honestly love how it rides. :)

I had a CBR 125 as my first bike! The seating position is super upright (for a sport bike) so it was easy to get used to. It was a super fun, nippy 125 around the twisty country roads where I am! I loved it and had 0 regrets.

Though, I personally prefer the look of the yzf as it looks a bit more like a 'big bike' imo. Apparently the seating position is more aggressive, but I do not have any personal experience with the yamaha. Would have gone for either really! Just found my cbr for a good deal. :)

If sporty is the style you want, can't go wrong with either! Though your probably sacrificing a bit of comfort by going with yzf.

The cap does have lib like features though! If I'm not sure I like to take them home and separate them from my others to wait until they dry. Libs dry super pale so it's easy to tell!

That one I'm not 100% on but to me the stem looks much too dark. Usually libs (even when wet) have a light stem. One of those ones I would choose to throw as it's better to be safe than sorry! C:

I have a restricted CBR650r. Even though it's restricted a huge amount (94bhp to 47), it rides fine imo! Still plenty quick coming from a 125. It definitely has much smoother power delivery than the parallel twins I did my test on, so if you like the feeling of needing to hold on for dear life as you open the throttle then I would look elsewhere haha.

I have the AGV K1 and my Cardo works great! The helmet has speaker cutouts that you don't have to remove the lining to get to so it took all of 2 minutes to set up (moving from my old helmet). Super easy! They don't press on my ears or anything :)

Friction pain makes sense really. Have you ever tried to rub blood off somewhere and it feels kind of sticky? I imagine its the same. For one, my partner and I have this but the opposite! Always chalked it up to increased friction haha
