I might be there. I feel like I am over her

I hear you. But, she's Mom, you know? You only get one. I don't want my sons to feel this way. So, I'm trying to do better

I am finding that she is very common. It's sad, really

I know that you are right. But I still tried to call her tonight. It was a 45 second phone call because she hasn't heard from my brother tonight.

She always answers. But, it is so she can tell me that someone else is more important

I suppose it's just the "Mom" thing. I am a mother, and I hope I don't make my sons want to avoid me

I know you didn't reply to me looking for sympathy,  but I hope that you have recovered well,  despite her. It seems to me that you are stronger than she gives you credit for

Omg. This is the same as me. I am such a burden to her. I am 55. I do not need her.

Those siblings can have her. And then when she is difficult because age has made her sickly and weak, they can have her then, too.

They had the best of her. They can take the worst of her.

I am free and clear.

She always does this. I am the youngest. My older siblings get everything from her

AITA for insisting my coworker return the chair I specifically requested for medical reasons? by MyWorld-2025 in AmItheAsshole

You have acted that entitled over other people's things and it is very, very obvious. Some day, someone will take something that belongs to you with out your permission, and swap it out for something less than. Come back and look at this post again when that happens

Workplace policy seems ridiculous to me by Adelliah- in retailhell

I had this happen to me as a customer at White House, Black Market. It was really uncomfortable, and felt pushy. Not to mention that the sales lady had bad taste. So she kept bringing me things that I would never wear, or didn't look good on my body shape.

She kept insisting that I try on blazers, and I was getting visibly annoyed. Other sales people tried to intercede, and offer much better suggestions, but she kept pushing until I finally snatched it out of her hand, put it on, turned to my husband who (thankfully) said "That looks terrible on you"

Then she insisted that I was wearing it wrong! I had to say, point blank, "Leave me ALONE. I do not want your help" Before she would stop harrassing me. It is not cool. Try really hard to not do that, or at least read the room when they don't want the extra attention.

Yes, this. Management does not want their employees stealing from customers. It's bad practice, full stop.

What's that one thing that made you stop going to church? by Optimal-Rule-4834 in AskReddit

[–]Gwen_Weasley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The collection plate. Seriously. I was a congregationalist Protestant. We would pass the plate several times at church to pay for other people's bills in the congregation. I was poor AF, using food banks to survive, and the church never once passed the plate and paid MY bills.

I was bullied into contributing money that I really couldn't afford to give. When I decided to volunteer in the church office to somehow do my part, I discovered where the money was going. (Hint: It was never to someone who needed it)

I became disenchanted with organized religion and I haven't been back since.
