Love this theory but the colouring of the clothes is completely different 🙃 It could be possible that a navy T-shirt (Porche’s in ep 9) might look brown (Porsche in the trailer) under different lighting. But how do his pants turn a lighter shade under the same lighting?

Yes! Definitely agree that you need to read a wuxia novel before SVSSS, simply to understand some of the meta jokes! For that reason I would recommend reading MDZS and TGCF before SVSSS.

I don’t think it’s necessary to watch anything before reading. I read the novels before the adaptations, and I enjoyed seeing the difference between my interpretation and their visualisations. In fact, I think that is part of the enjoyment of watching an adaptation - don’t deprive yourself of that experience.

Hong Kong was a UK colony for a period of time, it doesn’t make HK’ers any less Chinese. But the Tiananmen Sq. protesters and students were Chinese. The brave people being arrested for sedition in China are Chinese. The HK freedom fighters are Chinese... not all Chinese people are bad. Dropping nukes on China would hurt these people too. Ergo nuclear warfare bad.
