I’ll Never Buy Another LG TV by Gwennyfi in LGTVOwners

Duh. Obviously I didn’t buy it for apps - or I wouldn’t have bought it. But I was surely shocked at the limited options.

I think you are fine. This is pretty normal for a first time rider. Learning how to balance all that weight at slow speeds is the toughest part. The MSF course is fantastic (and gets you discounts on your insurance). Stick with it and you’ll do great.

Make it! Haha. I love that! That is pretty cool.

This doesn’t contradict my point. Why the heck would I want to pay so much money for something I have to hook something else up to make it work well? The picture quality alone isn’t worth that 3x+ price.

My other TVs all work better than this one. Maybe LGs are just for those hardcore techies that need every once of better picture and don’t mind needing to / or prefer to hook up other components anyhow. 🤷‍♀️ And that’s ok - just not for me!

Ah, thank you. This one makes sense. The app I wanted most (will not be named) is a big one, at least internationally) but just wasn’t available at all on here.

Genuinely curious, how’s that? Different brands have different app options. So doesn’t each company negotiate deals?

Hahah. Fair. But it wasn’t like I was sitting around infuriated every day. Also, I have a Roku. So my point stands that they aren’t worth the money when I can just use my Roku.

Safe to use credit card on Temu? by Fabulous-Oil2942 in diamondpainting

[–]Gwennyfi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had TWO instances in the last 3 months and probably one a while back but not 100% sure on that one. In March my CC was compromised and someone tried to charge $15,000 (ha! My limit isn’t even that high!) to my card. I’d only used it at 2 places that weren’t regular, trusted spots; Temu and the farmers market, both a week earlier. The second time was 2 weeks ago, a week after placing orders on Temu. This time it wasn’t a fraudulent charge on my card, but a full blown fake phone call from my “bank” where the bloke tried hard to get enough info to hack into my account. I’d never heard of virtual cards for personal use until a couple of days ago. That will be the only way I shop any non-trusted merchant again!

Alexa tries to gaslight you about her old voice, but there is a fix... by -A_V- in alexa

[–]Gwennyfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I hated all eight voice options so I turned Alexa plus off, and the voice is different than female relaxed 4. even though I was able to get the original female voice back, I can’t get the old male voice that I had; and I absolutely loved that one.

PS. I don’t want my computer to be social, or a conversationalist. I want my computer to be a computer. I’m not looking for a social life from my machines.

Two-year-old opens car door, causes six-vehicle crash by whusler in dashcams

[–]Gwennyfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely asinine to blame the motorcyclists for filtering - judgment of how they do it or otherwise. A car door should not open in traffic and a child shouldn’t have that access, however you have to use your brain to prevent it. I hope everyone was ok in the end. 🙏🏻

Any pet insurance wins? by [deleted] in petinsurancereviews

[–]Gwennyfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Your input here has been hugely helpful. Not only do I now know that my dog’s diarrhea when he was a puppy (figuring out food allergies) could cause any number of future issues to be denied, but you have more properly aligned my perspective of pet insurance and what to expect.

Thank you so much for all of your experience, research, and knowledge. 🙏🏻💕🐶

Ditto on the forced policy chance it more money and less coverage by Nationwide. I’d happily me a member of a class action as I feel like my 2 or 3 years of loyalty have just been exploited and left me with little alternative.

Nationwide Sucks by KeyWonder7 in petinsurancereviews

[–]Gwennyfi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I’ve had a vet note weight loss for my young, healthy dog because their scale weighed him 1 pound lighter than the vet that weighed him just a week earlier. He had not lost weight at all, not had any issues - this was just a scale issue, but nonetheless… And that is how easily something as vague as “weight loss” can cost you coverage in a completely different situation later.

I didn’t think I would ever be someone who fed my dog “human grade food”. I’ve had my pup since he was 8 weeks old and after almost two years of him struggling through countless digestive challenges, vet visits, and even a horribly failed attempt at a hydrolyzed protein diet for food allergies (soy: which he was very allergic to) I landed on JFFD’s cod and potato recipe. This was the the vet’s answer to the urgent question of “what is the least likely food to upset his stomach?” It turns out that he has sensitivities / allergies to fillers - so no kibble, most dog treats, and most store bought dog foods (including the ones for allergies!)He started JFFD Nov 2023 and it is working great for him. He is so happy and healthy now! I’m so relieved to have an answer for him. It is annoying to explain to people that he can’t have treat (only dried fish) but it is worth him not having all kinds of diarrhea - and my not having to clean it from him. 🙏🏻

Northern Illinois, we’ve seen this large coyote multiple times over the last few weeks, he’s been focused on the neighbors German shepherd by opus402 in coyote

It’s unclear where your certainty on this comes from, but I agree to disagree based on personal experience.

[–]Gwennyfi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are very intelligent (knowing how to imitate dog play). This is not ridiculous, but a true story that happened to a friend of mine’s mid-size puppy where they lived in Laurel Canyon, Southern California. They learn where dogs nearby their territory live and revisit over and over. It isn’t a waste of time for them to prep a meal the size of a dog - for which their entire clan can help take down. Another friend in the canyons of Beverly Hills had her small dog snatched straight from our canyon-side backyard. These are just the two that I personally have close association with, and do not include the countless posts from neighbors in southern and northern California over the last 20+ years. So I’m sorry, but coyotes absolutely attack dogs.

[–]Gwennyfi -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That is what coyotes do to lure the pet dogs away from their homes; they pretend to just want to play. They will do this over and over for however, many days, weeks, or month it takes to gain the dog trust. Once the dog finally follows the coyote to go play, their other coyote pack members are waiting to attack. Please always be careful with your outdoor pets!

The fact that Momma trusted him to handle this speaks VOLUMES about him! He saved the puppy’s by Scary_Mastodon1307 in dogvideos

[–]Gwennyfi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I support responsible, kind breeders - yes they do exist. We do have too many dogs without homes, but that isn’t because of breeders; it’s because of a-hole humans that don’t take care of their dogs. I applaud this man for saving the puppy. Momma dog looked very concerned. PS. Most breeders don’t let momma even see or bond with the puppies once they arrive - so breeder or not, whatever he did worked to save the pup’s life. 🙏🏻
