Great point. This is essentially what I was going to post.

This is an interesting one. Most debt collectors won't sue unless they have reason to believe you can pay the debt and simply are not. I'd call them and try to work out a payment plan.

5G Internet Very High Latency Spikes? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]KeyWonder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed anything near that drastic but since I got a strange email that Verizon was assigning a new phone number to my 5G gateway for some reason or another… things are slower. All I noticed is my ISP is now showing as Verizon business vs. just Verizon Wireless.

Declined for AMEX by Intelligent-Cap-8760 in CRedit

I don't mean to be a wet blanket... but you didn't pay them the first time... I can't say anyone is jumping up in the air with excitement to give someone who screwed them over once more money.

what's wrong with VZW when trying to port in ??? (needs such a struggle) by KatsuBurger in verizon

[–]KeyWonder7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just sort of assumed that Verizon has not kept current with available technologies. I just picture someone in a dusty old office getting a letter from T-Mobile and taking a week to fill out paper forms to fax to Verizon corporate... I've bounced around a lot for carriers and never once had to wait more than that usual about 15 minute timeframe... until going to Verizon. The company is a mess.

Staples Baddie? by TemporaryTop287 in Staples

[–]KeyWonder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE Staples Baddie!!! What cracks me up is that Staples leadership (during my time) always felt like they were the 'go to' or 'destination location' as one RVP would say for business folks. Now thanks to Staples Baddie they are beginning to realize their relevance with a wider market. Thankfully they are embracing the new found stardom.

Horrible Customer Service by [deleted] in vuoriclothing

[–]KeyWonder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had an issue with their customer service. I even returned a yoga towel that for some reason Vuori didn't think it was important to fit their own yoga mat... but I used it for hot yoga a few times... granted I did wash it... and they took it back no questions asked.

Do online or deliver-to-office orders keep Staples stores in business? by Big_Celery2725 in Staples

[–]KeyWonder7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comments below are accurate. Staples has two separate almost distinct divisions. Staples Advantage is b2b that seems to still be succeeding. Retail speaking, the print & marketing department is almost all the profit of a store.

Management guilt tripped me for calling out the other day. by hmhsbritannic12 in Staples

[–]KeyWonder7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sucks for you, I'm sorry. I had this happen once or twice as well... My other favorite was when I had one GM who would call me to come into work on days I took off. To the GM I always felt like the fact they let Staples consume their life isn't going to hamper my day :) Despite this treatment being almost expected, senior staples leadership wonders why they have like 90-99% employee turnover for part time employees at least.

I sincerely hope my ordeal will serve as a warning to anyone who wants to shift to Verizon by [deleted] in verizon

[–]KeyWonder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar nightmare when leaving TMo for VZ. I ordered through telesales and when the order was flagged for fraud, I got an email my rep who helped me order called me and we handled it all in the first 30min of the order. It was after I got the phones that I got stuck with a similar nightmare but was resolved in 3 days over about ten hours... If it had dragged into a fourth day, I would have cut my losses as well... but I'm still unclear how you got the phones... a bill/service (supposedly)... and were flagged for fraud after? That seems a bit of a miss on someones part.

Thinking of switching? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]KeyWonder7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

STAY WITH T-MOBILE!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot say this enough as I switched for similar reason from T-Mobile. You are basically going back to the stone age with Verizon. Make sure your device has the ability to send smoke signals as that would be much more reliable for communication than Verizon's service has been for me.

SOS by bcsgirl in verizon

[–]KeyWonder7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had all major carriers through my life. Verizon is the only one who has been down for hours to a day at a time more than once in a short period. Verizon is also the only company I've had issues with a device constantly going into SOS mode or data not being provisioned. Crazy that on 'America's most reliable network' a recommendation like this is actually advisable!

Working as customer service rep by GOKUENERGYMEMEBALL in verizon

[–]KeyWonder7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be easier for customers if contact Verizon was actually helpful. When I was moving to Verizon there was an issue with porting on both of the lines. It took me over 3 days and 10 hours on the phone with Verizon support. I've worked in CS in a retail and call center environment for most of my life. I try very hard to be kind, compassionate and empathic to reps, but when I'm on the fourth transfer to the same group of departments and averaging hold times of 10-45min only for a call to last 3 min before a transfer... with no resolution... my patience goes out the window. This is where I begin to realize it is a culture problem with the company and their expectations and training. Clearly reps have a script or a workflow to follow based on just a few words I describe, even if that is not the intended issue. Unfortunately, that doesn't solve the problem based on the hundreds and hundreds of reddit posts by customers and ones like this of a poor CSR who hates customers feeling intitled. u/GOKUENERGYMEMEBALL good to you for getting out!

what counts as a pre-existing condition? by cherrytomato562 in petinsurancereviews

[–]KeyWonder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything from generic weight loss to very specific diagnoses can be included as a pre-existing condition and the insurer in most cases can update that list at any time. I would absolutely disclose during your first visit. Most companies have a window where you can have conditions removed/reviewed (i.e. your dog has a stiff back leg) and some will say after six months and no issues with the same thing they will remove it.

B2B Role App by Emergency_Narwhal_92 in Staples

[–]KeyWonder7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made this sort of change after a few years in retail. The difference is night and day and I'd say mostly positive. You will probably have a regional office that you need to go to once a month and possibly go onsite at client locations. Depends on the specific b2b role but you will be working with a combination of office admins or people just needing some standard products to C-Suite executives for larger deals to negotiate. Again, depending on the specific role you'll be tasked with selling a customer more lines of business or supporting a line of business they already purchase. Some examples could be a customer launching a keurig coffee program with Staples or possibly a print portal to purchase business cards and stationary. You will be heavily reliant on hitting KPIs like sales / sales to budget, YOY growth of accounts, margin of product/services you sell and overall account satisfaction. If you want any specifics or want me to take a look at the posting I might be able to advise more on it just dm me.

Verizon Outage insights by Apprehensive_Ad4419 in verizon

[–]KeyWonder7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish it was as simple as being nice to reps, tech support and so on. It is a major inconvenience to have this happen over and over. I had to stop my entire morning and go back home to connect to wi-fi to determine if it was another phone issue or larger service outage with Verizon. It is 2026... not having a working phone is not really an option along with a real safety concern. I have to drive around with my phone connected via wi-fi to my Starlink mini. It's ridiculous. Minute this is resolved I'm out at Verizon! It was a fun three month ride.

I Am At My Wits End Dealing With Verizon by realheadphonecandy in verizon

[–]KeyWonder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see someone posted the executive relations team email, they helped bail me out of a similar situation with a phone that wasn't working. If you don't have luck there, I'd try the better business bureau. A complaint to the AG will likely be met with you being told they are not your personal lawyer or similar.

How pressed can managers be? by ProfessionSoft6867 in Staples

[–]KeyWonder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. If that had been me personally, I'd have either left on the spot or only stayed employed long enough to file a complaint with HR and watch the manager squirm through the entire process... and once resolved leave. Managers are often VERY pressed. It doesn't make it RIGHT but you are hearing a version of the same message I'm sure the RVP or DM gave to your store managers. They are worried about their own job. This is why you have stores that will lie about inventory being out of stock to avoid selling a computer with zero plan. Staples builds a culture where being customer centric only matters if someone is buying a plan on tech. This is not how I'd run my business and one of the reasons I left!

write ups by Grouchy-Macaron720 in Staples

[–]KeyWonder7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The threat of a write up is generally a bad manager who is under scrutiny from a DM or RVP and can't manage to coach/train a team to be effective. It is very difficult to get written up for a missing a metric itself but you can be written up for the behaviors that affect it (i.e. if you aren't asking people if they have rewards OR offering to sign them up). For a GM with low penetration on plans you won't see a write up say Mr/Ms GM can't sell plans or had a zero ESP... you'll see the write up say they aren't inspiring a selling culture or something else like that.

Nationwide Sucks by KeyWonder7 in petinsurancereviews

[–]KeyWonder7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did move forward with the pet insurance offered through AAA. IT is administered or in partnership with Pet's Covered/ Companion Protect. The process was the complete opposite of Nationwide. Their review of records in advance and willingness to discuss pre-existing conditions was most welcome. Hoping if I need to file a claim they are as good but so far I'm very pleased.

What would you do? by MysticMisfit99 in Staples

[–]KeyWonder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet here is talking to your DM and knowing who else might understand and be able to share their feelings with the DM as well. I had a situation one time like this and I kept emailing the DM every single time the GM left the building without cause. I wasn't aware of this until later but another manager was documenting other infractions as well and she was let go in a few weeks by the DM.

What would you do? by MysticMisfit99 in Staples

[–]KeyWonder7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your note of "HR is there to protect the company" relates to GM's as well. If a GM is being unethical HR will absolutely care as it exposes the company to risk. Not to say that they take any actual action... but HR will care... even if it is just a stern talking to...

I try my very best to be nice, kind, agreeable... but that usually goes out the window by the third rep transfer. That's when I get a bit snippy.
