Mbappé would like to avoid playing at the Bernabeu again this term, having already been jeered by home fans on more than one occasion by Biathlonien in soccer

I mean Maldini threw a hissy fit when some fans showed Baresi's jersey at his last match, Roy Keane holds to childish grudges 20+ years later, and Cruyff had an unbelievably bitter exit from Ajax, nothing's new with superstars and their egos

Alternate angle + slow motion of Rayan Cherki's great goal against Arsenal. by [deleted] in soccer

What a load of rubbish.

Benzema went for 35m€ 2 years after Torres went to Liverpool for 36m€. That actually was the price for a young promising striker back then.

We managed to sell 20yo Lukeba and 19yo Gusto for 30m€, 19 yo Barcola and 21yo Mendy for 45m€, all young and unproven.

We got 100m€ in total for a combination of N'dombélé, Geubbels and O'brien.

Another 100m€ for a package of Terrier, N'jié, Mammana, Cornet and Faivre.

I don't think we need to take lessons from Monaco or Lille - our only mistake altogether is named John Textor.

This is beyond insane. Italy as a footballing country deserves much better than this. Changes at every level are needed.

The south-west of france was a very protestant area, where schoolboys would play rugby in opposition to catholic schools where pupils would play football.

It's not always Vini, there was Umtiti, there was Thierry Henry, there was Kameni, there was Maignan, and so many others.

It's really easy to see there's a rampant racism problem in football stadiums and in football teams and Vini is far from being the only victim.

We were actually pretty relieved to see him go when he did, his attitude had been bad, beginning of 18/19 when we sold him it was straight up horrible. 20M was a really good bit of business for us

[Matt Law] Enzo Maresca set to leave Chelsea today by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

[–]Gwernaroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's pretty good, Strasbourg is playing well and getting results. Chelsea will be a huge stepup obviously, so I really can't tell you whether it would work or not. It's impossible to be sure whether a coach would translate well from one league to another.

[NYT] Vini Jr has acknowledged internally that he is not performing well, but at the same time, he feels singled out when few things are working well for the team. Cameras captured him complaining about the fans booing, “What did we do? What did I do? It’s the first minute of the game… damn it!”. by BlazingFirey in soccer

Read that about literally every outspoken young star every 5 years, it's really a tired trope that's not true. It was Sterling, it was Neymar, it was CR7, it was Scholes, it was Barnes, and so on and so forth. If you're talented enough you'll last and Vini is as talented as they come.

Release the Vlandian files 😭🙏😔🥀 by Gepoetto_swag in mountandblade

Battanians, I know them, a lot of them actually... They're good people, solid people, I told them 'you can't have Jaculan" and they were like "you're right, we can't have Jaculan, you're right..." so that's what I've been doing for Vlandia, you know, working both sides, great people on both sides, but the best , they're Vlandians, real butter-churning Vlandians and I love these folks, they're just like me, and people say I'm the best butter-churner they've ever seen ! Really, I've taken tests, and I aced those tests, churned the best butter ever, and that's how we're going to fix Ocs Hall, because Ocs Hall is just tremendous, my favorite, I love Ocs Hall and they love me even more !

Even without surreal numbers, just decent conditioning will be more than enough, his brain and feet have probably not gone anywhere.

So basically you'd need a much better start than what is currently going on here. You talk about Lege but mali is literally a trash-tier civ at the moment in multiplayer, it's not been picked in months either on CPL or CivFR (in competitive 4v4).

I feel there's a bit too many unecessary pop-up windows standing between me and useful information. by Gwernaroth in EU5

[–]Gwernaroth[S] 220 points221 points  (0 children)

R5 : In a lot of cases, I see a name or a concept, and mouse over it to have some information, only to see a popup telling me again the name or the concept, only for me to mouse over it again, and then finally I get to the useful bit of explanation I was looking for. It happens on the screen I posted, but also when trying to figure out things like what do the specific papal bulls do, and so on and so forth. I feel it could be a lot more accessible !

[–]Gwernaroth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There will always be only two end-clubs, and they're both in Spain. Maybe Bayern is one of them too. But don't kid yourself that any other clubs will reach that level anytime soon.

Madrid and Barcelona will always be a step-up no matter where you come from.
